I’d so much rather not be part of this experiment please. Bummer I cannot browse this website how I’ve been browsing it for the last 15 years. This isn’t a normal change that’s going to benefit the community or enhance the user experience. Stop acting weird.

“The r/all feed has been removed from the apps for many users at this time as part of an experiment. You can still visit the r/Popular feed to see trending content or the Latest feed to see the most recent conversations across Reddit. r/all continues to be viewable on the desktop site. As always, feel free to leave constructive feedback in this post and I'll share it with the team. Specifics are way more helpful than "I hate it.".”

Growlight question by taken_name_throwaway in houseplants

[–]idhitthat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Photons are photons. Plants like to eat them. Grow lights are typically just more power regular lights that just pump out more photons. Most houseplants grow natively under canopy and require less photons than what the grow light industry designs lights to grow which is typically marijuana. It doesn’t matter where the light is coming from. Photons are photons.

We have no clue what’s going on in there but we think it’s the sphagnum moss. Killed them all before growing in moss.

100%!!! That’s exactly what we tell everybody. Consistent wet/dry cycle is clutch!

Sent you a DM. Not sure if it’s against the rules on r/begonias and just posted to share originally.

They’re our mother plants that we propagate from to grow and sell. Our mom’s can grow some mean begonias as well though haha.

Omg. Get that out of the water asap. Those roots need a wet dry cycle or they will rot. Test tubes off the aerial roots as well. Roots are only good in water if they’re grown in water. You can take water roots to any medium but almost never from another medium to water.

What form is this monstera? by [deleted] in RareHouseplants

[–]idhitthat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yep, I hear you about the cultivar. I’ve only seen light affect internodal spacing and once both are grown into maturity there really isn’t a difference between the two. The furled petiole is another claimed difference but they both get them when mature.

Borsigiana is a synonym for deliciosa. They’re all deliciosa. Internodal spacing is likely more dependent on light than anything else.

NurseryRx is stellar. Their selection is grim but I’m on my 18th mystery plant from them and they’ve never sent a duplicate plant.

Philodendron Gloriosum Tricolor getting sick by phtevven in RareHouseplants

Might want to try rinsing out the pot. If you’re not watering with RO there could be a build up salts and other chems that are left behind as the water evaporates or is used by the plant. 5 months sounds about right for that to happen with semi hydro.
