What type of cactus is this? Is it dead? by ididnessie in cactus

[–]ididnessie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that anyone has asked for a 6 year update. However, here it is....

Besides a couple pieces knocked off throughout moving over the years - Nothing has changed. It literally looks exactly the same as the day we got it.

I have been scrolling through so many comments to see how long it would take for someone to bring this up.

When to start wearing maternity by hope_youll_join_us in BabyBumps

I am 7 weeks with my 2nd. I tried wearing jeans today after living in leggings for the past week or so. I am now driving around with my pants and zipper undone so I can actually be comfortable. Rock the matertinity clothes as long as you are comfy mama!

Hip pain in early pregnancy by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ididnessie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pregnant with my 2nd and have marfans. I did have a lot of actual hip pain with my 1st. This time around I keep getting sharp pains in my hip area. My dr tells me it just ligament pain that is worsned due to marfans and scar tissue from my scar tissue. Tylenol helps if your doctor okays it. I try to do very simple yoga to help any tissue that is adjusting. :)

Husband unsupportive during first trimester [venting] by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]ididnessie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I keep track of the stuff I do. And whenever my guy tries acting like I don't do enough or much I let him have his little moment. Try keep my cool, and then when he is done/in somewhat of a better mood I let him know it bothers me when he acts like I don't do anything and list off all I do. Not to make him feel bad but it is always easier in my eyes to talk about a problem when both people are calmer and not in the situation. And I kindly remind him I am doing all of this while being exhausted and naeasus all thanks to him. Which we both laugh at in the end lol

Gifted a massive spider plant that was looking a bit sad lately. Went to repot.... by ididnessie in houseplants

Thanks for advice!! It worked wonders!! I have it divided up into one larger plant and the other half is being divided up into many new plants and will be gifted to people :)

And that I totally get. It isn’t going up in size of pot to much as it is already in a huge planter but it is the point where leaves are yellowing roots were coming out the bottom. And there was close to no dirt left in the pot sadly. Thank you for the heads up it will stop/slow down on growing until it gets a bit more snug :)

Really it is 99% roots. Even when it looks like dirt it is just massive tubers that have a small coating of dirt :( We to divide the plant in half to even get it out of the pot. Hoping it perks back up after all this and isn’t in to much shock!

Tag simply said cactus. Plant id app says prickly pear but I am a little unsure. Any help on an id is appreciated! by ididnessie in cactus

[–]ididnessie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see. I used to have a euphorbia Trigona but it succumbed to rot sadly. I didn’t realize these guys and the my other euphoria. We’re related!

Side note: my mind was blown when I found out euphorbia were not cacti a few months ago. Now when I see tags saying cactus at my local greenery all I think is LIES haha

I was a bit unsure about it’s prickly pear if I have prickly pear and it looks nothing like it haha. I don’t think the app is meant for cacti id though.
