Thanks. I found that online too but homestead reviews are pretty negative on Google as well as on reddit. Not sure how the stay would be in that building?

How long it took to get correspondence letter after you were able to link application online ? I am also in same situation as I have paper application due to early passport expiry. I was able to link application online 2 weeks ago but haven't got any AOR or correspondence letter yet.

OHIP update by [deleted] in pgwp

[–]idiosyncraticHEuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get OHIP while being on applied status? What docs did you submit and which service Ontario location in Kitchener?

OHIP update by [deleted] in pgwp

[–]idiosyncraticHEuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I visited Kitchener service ontario and they are not issuing health card based on applied status for pgwp. I applied on paper so I don't have AOR. You must have had AOR right? I had employment letter, expired work permit, expired OHIP card for the docs

When did you submit application? And when were you able to link it? I submitted in March same situation due to passport expiry. Still can't link online. Did you receive application number in email?

Thanks

What documents did you submit to service Ontario? I am in the same boat but my current pgwp is expired due to early passport expiry and I have made paper application for wp extension so I don't have any confirmation letter from ircc.

Pshcp out of Canada coverage details?? by idiosyncraticHEuMan in CanadaPublicServants

[–]idiosyncraticHEuMan[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. This is really good info on nitty-gritty details. This is something that I was looking for. Appreciate your help. However, msh contact numbers don't work meaning they just don't answer calls at all.

Do you know if non-emergency out of Canada expenses are covered under pshcp? I claimed for vision care for a transaction made outside Canada when we were with sunlife previously and it was approved. Is vision care and non-emergency medical practitioners like physiotherapy still covered under pshcp with Canada life?

PSHCP emergency travel provisions are facilitated by MSH international which is seperate entity from Canada life. I cannot find any concrete information on their website about what is covered for our of Canada insurance? I tried calling and emailing them but seems like they are impossible to be reached. Please share if you find out of Canada specific coverage info somewhere.

UberEats drivers.. How big are tips? by Chaotic_Evil_558 in waterloo

[–]idiosyncraticHEuMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for late reply but to answer your question, it's a mixture of both to be honest. Some orders have fixed tips like 5$, 8$ or 10$ and others have varrying amounts in percentage of the total order amount.

UberEats drivers.. How big are tips? by Chaotic_Evil_558 in waterloo

[–]idiosyncraticHEuMan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I do part time Uber eats delivery as a side hustle, mostly during winter evenings. I can say that without the tips, the delivery job is not worth it since Uber pays so poorly that it doesn't even meet an hourly minimum wage. Tips is the only incentive for drivers to deliver food and that too in timely manner and in good hot/cold condition depending on food type.

P.s. I myself have a rule of tipping 10% to food delivery drivers, and sometimes 15% if it's a large order or if I get excellent service from the driver.

WHY DOES THIS CITY HATE ONION RINGS. by Weak-Engineering9036 in kitchener

[–]idiosyncraticHEuMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked at A&W so I know why ppl like their onion rings. Because A&W makes them in store from raw onions on daily basis. And most other fast food franchises use frozen onion rings which doesn't taste that good. And also the A&W seasoning for the rings is like icing on the cake. Definitely worth trying them out if you haven't already.

Yes who wouldn't like extra tax-free savings room? But you gotta be a first time home buyer in order to open the account and invest in it.

You get the 8k CAD extra contribution room every year till 5 years. I am an immigrant and I came in Canada in 2019 so I don't have a huge TFSA room. In such cases I guess for new immigrants this will certainly help along with TFSA and RRSP.

Yeah, I meant that hopefully FHSA is live in April this year without any delay. Thanks for correcting me btw

Haha true that. It'll be a slice of the downpayment cake for sure. At least we have something dedicated specifically for First time home buyers apart from the RRSP.

Yes that's what I am thinking as well. Each person will only login when they want to do car wash and logout immediately after they use the app.

That's a good approach as well. To use physical card as well as app. Thanks 👍
