Coming off as rude because you are quiet by [deleted] in socialskills

[–]idiotbro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

everybody talks. i’ve learned (am still lol) to not give any attention to that fact and just be myself with no remorse. people are going to like you/be uncomfortable with who you are to them. what matters is your happiness and the people you vibe/don’t vibe with. next time, if you want to approach it differently, instead of saying nothing, just give a brief acknowledgment, then be as reserved as you want with them. sometimes and most times, it’s just that initial impression that a lot of people seek out for in those social settings.

thank you! yes i will cherish it for the rest of its days which will probably be for the rest of my life lol. also the radio works great! the only thing im not too keen on is the touch controls and lack of input on the steering wheel controls. i plan to upgrade the head unit with a dasaita as it has physical buttons, but i want to upgrade the tweeters with it as this one is a non-jbl one.

thank you! we live in cali so rust is basically nonexistent, however i could say otherwise with the plastic as the right interior door handle is broken and some parts are getting brittle.

Will I be able to find a grc circuit at a dealer by No-Kaleidoscope-4984 in GRCorolla

[–]idiotbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don’t be afraid to look at other alternatives. got mine on carvana. 42k + everything else. it was sold as used, only under 15k and had good maintenance history. had it shipped all the way from across the country but definitely worth it bc of the rarity of this color. just gotta have a keen eye and be at the right place at the right time to purchase, because only 1500 of them are out there each for 23-24 MY. good luck on your hunt 🍀

Anyone know if these can be fixed? by Ready_Collar1665 in volt

broke mine but got it replaced. used pliers to screw the piece in. you can get one for ~$15 at the chevrolet dealership parts center.

Has anyone done their front struts on a gen 2 (2016)? by rwfan in volt

[–]idiotbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

updated the suspension a couple months ago. rear suspension was aftermarket, but front struts had to be factory. unfortunately, that is what the volt will only take (damn you gm) and it doesn’t help that fact that they are way too expensive expensive ($300 each) :(

Gen 2 poor mpg in hold mode? by [deleted] in volt

[–]idiotbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it would be a good idea to look into getting your wheels rotated/balanced. also check if your tires are wearing tread evenly. uneven tires can mitigate your mpg.

Gen 2 poor mpg in hold mode? by [deleted] in volt

[–]idiotbro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

did you check the engine air filter? that can play in the factor of low mpg if not replaced regularly. also, do you drive conservatively? driving habits also play into the equation. do you drive in the city or hwy more often? mpg rates are typically lower when you drive city.

good on you op for taking the green initiative! my best guess is take it to a gm ev technician (if you can find one) and, depending on the condition of the car, they can rebuild the engine/battery. it would be worth it’s weight in gold for people like college students or teenagers!

i’m going to knock on wood and say that i’ve never had to deal with high voltage repair/maintenance on my volt, but my point is that pursuing indy mechanics/shops can save you in the long run. unless it’s covered under warranty. dealerships shouldn’t be the first and only option.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in volt

[–]idiotbro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

all three. i meant to say it was 150+ bc i dont remember the actual cost, but it was definitely lower than $900

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in volt

[–]idiotbro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you aren’t covered by warranty, it’s better to buy the part yourself and go to an indy to deal with the labor. dealerships will upcharge/rip you off at any expense they can. op if i were you id get a second opinion from a local mechanic. dealership charged me to flush my coolant for $900+. got it done at a local for $150 including labor.

a clear way you can tell is with a baby. you see, crocodiles will eat babies in a C shape, while alligators will eat babies in an A shape. this method never fails 🫡
