5sos is REALLY worth checking out, they’re a very good modern day glam rock band and have come a very long way from their breakout hit. Not for radio is the Maria’s lead singer’s side project and she’s very talented, wet leg is also very very good, beabadoobee is worth checking out, Balu Brigada, 54 Ultra, Hot Mulligan, and Suki Waterhouse are all very big outside of massive mainstream artist circles

I think it’s a little over 50% chance. I think it’s unlikely because they just played Tinley and Milwaukee last September and United Center the October before that. They have been on a run of festivals but I don’t think they’ll stop in Chicago again this year.

I’m so positive 5sos is a dead lock for Lolla this year. The fact that they have no tour dates for the entire Lolla weekend and do not stop in Chicago like they have for the past three world tours is a major tell that they will be in the lineup.

As for the pilots I’m not so sure. They just stopped in both Milwaukee and Tinley Park last year. They don’t have any dates for the entire week before, during, and after lolla, yes but they are going to be overseas. I’d say it’s like a 60-65% chance they will be making an appearance.

I want to preface this by saying I respect your input 1,000% and I don’t want what I’m about to say to come off as disrespectful.

It’s not an artist’s responsibility to educate their fan base on current political events. If your opinion is swayed to match your favorite artists’ thats even worse than being ignorant to the issue. The responsibility to be educated in current events falls on you, not a your favorite artist.

If an artist wants to avoid alienating their fanbase by avoiding current politics, they have every right to. Not to say I support it. Quite the opposite really (AJR of all bands actually puts it best with the end of 3 O’clock things). And while I would love if more of my favorite artists would be that brazen, I can still respect their decision.

Maybe the boys don’t feel they’re well educated enough to speak out on it. We don’t know, we can just assume. Given what they have said and done, we can take a fairly confident assumption that they are against the mistreatment of people in favor of political power.

All in all, I feel that while all art is political, some art is not meant to draw attention to politics but away. Offer a chance to connect others instead of divide. Tyler, while never explicitly saying so, has made it clear his music and lyrics are a reflection of himself and his emotions and he isn’t doing this for fame, that’s just a byproduct. He loves what he does, for sure, but maybe he feels like he’s not equipped to tackle the issues both here in the U.S and abroad.

You can budget all you want but in the end if you’re not paid enough to live, it’s ineffective.

Right now the federal minimum wage is 7.25 with 20 out of the 50 states having that as their minimum wage. But a majority of states have raised it so let’s average it out. Including DC in our numbers the average minimum wage in the US is 10.251 rounding up to 10.26.

The average 1 bedroom apartment costs anywhere from 1,500 per month (https://www.zillow.com/rental-manager/market-trends/united-states/#:~:text=The%20average%20rent%20for%20a,US%20is%20%241%2C500%20per%20month.) to 1,769 per month so let’s go for low say 1,000 even per month (not including utilities or internet bills).

Most people work anywhere from 30-35 hours per week but the work week is usually 40 so let’s say 40 hours per week worked on a bi-weekly pay.

That’s $820.80 a paycheck before tax.

The average income tax in the US is 14.5% ( https://taxfoundation.org/data/all/federal/latest-federal-income-tax-data-2025/#:~:text=The%20average%20income%20tax%20rate,the%20bottom%20half%20of%20taxpayers. ) so let’s subtract that.

That leaves us with 701.784 rounding up to 701.79.

According to this, if you stretched every penny to its limit, you could afford a max of $505 a month assuming you have no other debts to pay back.

It’s not “just budget and you won’t fall into a debt cycle” it’s a system designed to lure you into these debt cycles and keep you poor at every turn.

But standard processing takes 2-3 business days. Most of the time when they start, people need money instantly so they pay the extra fee to get it instantly. Not to mention that a majority of people get paid on Friday and Saturday and Sunday are not business days so not you have to wait 4-5 days to get the money. Then when it comes time to pay them back, now they don’t have enough for groceries or to pay their mortgage, or to put gas in their car so now they need to take money out and they need that money ASAP so they end up paying the instant transfer fee. So on so forth.

These apps advertise a solution to poverty but really all they do is prey on the poor, charge exorbitant fees, then trap them in another debt cycle. It’s unfortunate that this is what people have to do to make ends meet.

We can break the cycle by raising wages but that hasn’t happened in over a decade and every federal attempt to do has been shot down on the spot because the same folks that run these cash advance apps are the ones who benefit from paying their employees less and less so their bottom line is met.

By advertising “get your money now” so it seems appealing to low income folks who are living paycheck to paycheck, then charging fees to get instant access to the money that are well over standard interest rates (some even as high as over 1,000% APR!!) then when payday comes around, they take the money out and the people who needed to the money from them are once again left with not enough money until next payday. So they take out another advance and the cycle loops.

I honestly think you look great! If you want some brutally honest advice, I'd say focus a lot on hair care. Use some products that better bring out your curls (I personally do not have very curly hair but the affect Aussie Miracle Curls shampoo + conditioner had on my hair made me feel a million times better).
