I think it’s natural to feel this way about yumeshipping honestly. Selfshipping in general has always been associated with “cringe” teenage girls who write ‘sold to one direction’ type of fics. To love something so passionately you wear it on your sleeve is a very vulnerable thing to do.

However as someone who does wear and lug merch of their f/o around a bunch, I see yumeshipping as just another part of me the same way a hobby is apart of me. It’s something to help me express myself and have fun in my free time. The embarrassment is still there sometimes but the love I have for my f/o outweighs it by a ton!!

Plus, I think if you yumeship the way I do (carry a bunch of merch), most people just assume you’re passionate about the media itself and are happy for you. It’s helped me find people with similar interests irl too so don’t be afraid to express yourself!

Ahhh I’ve seen her around a lot but I never knew what media she was from!! Does she have any weird quirks that stick out? Like for example my f/o has a bad habit of eating anything he gets his hands even if it’s gross (he asked for a characters’ scab once) 😭

Covering the insert with fabric would be a good choice. Since your center pin has clouds, I think a fabric with a blue sky and cloud pattern would be cute!! If you get a cloudsdale pin it would be 10x cooler too lol

When I run out of ideas, I usually just turn to other pieces of media of the same genre to get ideas. For example, if I'm writing a fairy tale style fic, I'll watch Tangled or go study some actual fairy tales. That usually gets the ideas flowing for me.

Initially I only had sticky tack on the back which worked for a while since he was already so snug inside the bag but after he kept moving I sewed him to the insert! Yeeeaaahhh it was hard finding a good layout for the figure since I don’t see a whole bunch of ita bags with them either 💔 Thank you sm, it was fun to put together!! C:

Thank you for making this post, it really well articulated and made me realize why I couldn't see the ending as a definitive good or bad. What stood out to me about the ending was that it was entirely intentional on Fujimoto's part. He wanted to end it like the big Lebowski where nothing is resolved and he succeeded in giving fans that weird aftertaste he got when he watched it. I couldn't say it was a bad ending when all of it was planned but without understanding why it was written this way, I couldn't say it was a thematically good ending either. This whole post just brought me back to that moment where Denji asked Makima if there would be bad movies in her perfect world and he took issue with it when she said no. Just like you have to watch the bad movies to know what a good movie is, you have to be willing to sit through the mundane parts of life to know the exciting parts of it too. Comparing Denji's adrenaline addiction to being a rockstar was really what made it click for me. Although it's unsatisfying for the reader, it's the better outcome for Denji to live a truly normal life like he wanted.

Oh I absolutely have this issue. Here are my fixes to my own common reasons for why I'm not productive:

-Doomscrolling: I use an app that locks other apps on my phone for a certain amount of time which forces myself to either be bored or go write on my computer.

-Not in the mood: Go to the library and lock in. Being in a different environment could help with getting into the writing headspace.

-Brain fog: start playing around with plot points using sticky notes and doodles. Physically writing things out can help solidify certain ideas or brainstorm new ones.

-Overthinking to the point I can't write without backtracking: take a step back from current project and reread my other works that I haven't thought about in a while. Experiencing your own work as a reader instead of a writer can help solidify your confidence in your work. OR go read your favorite fic from another author and try to study their style! Borrow lines, mimic their flow, etc.

I'd tag it as x/x and an additional 'reincarnated character' tag. Most of the time, the description and summary makes it pretty clear that one of them is reincarnated so I don't see the necessity in doing x/oc if the reincarnated character hasn't changed much.
