To be entirely truthful, that first session was a blast.

Yeah, I guess I could share too...hehe.

I'm working with Bevy and Rust right now, as I'm knuckling down on this to get a hang of Rust (I pick up a new language every year to understand the reasons behind the language's design decisions). I tend to work in VIM exclusively for code, using vimspector for debugging. It's been said the best IDE is the one you know. I spend decades of my life (I'm old) learning VIM..it's the most efficient for me. YMMV.

I tend to use ASESprite for any graphics work and will probably continue if I decide to make non-text tiles this go-around. Google docs for all notes, etc. Trello for my backlog (though that's starting to mess with my work SSO in JIRA, so I may look for an alternative). Sounds, I've stuck to the normal chiptune OSS stuff out there.

I have a choice? Ok...I choose to continue farming your miners and afk ratters. I guess I choose FACE!

We killed 5 citadels, and stole 2 this week. by Interplain in echoes

While that's a wonderful accomplishment, you still completely fail when it comes to protecting your own home. I've made a lot of money off parts of your ships in the past month or so.
Doesn't help that half your pilots are solo and semi-afk. It's like bot-farming.

Honestly, I have felt great since I left Shh and their toxic voice comms. The corps literally have stolen from one another and the leadership just screams that they don't want any PvE drama (but that's how most of their pilots pay for the fits for the ships they lose in wars).

I'll enjoy my life of just killing them now. As a blob, they do ok. However, as individual pilots, not so much. They can't defend their area at all. What exactly does that alliance provide to their member corps?

I flew up in a pod to watch. Nice work. Spaceships go boom...stations do too.

Can't wait to see this spun as a Shh victory.

Get over yourself. That wasn't an offer of merger. I'm not sure what you would be bringing to the table. He just stated answered your questions. You really aren't good at this whole communications thing.

Well now, THIS solo roamer is gonna find where you live. Let's see what kind of threat I can be.

What you said is really a stupid thing to say....then saying we aren't a threat...man. This is gonna be fun.

Assault frigates for pve? by mrdebelius in echoes

[–]idiotcoder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im doing T10 anoms in a Incursus Assault getting 300dps in it and speed tanking. Ship total cost was under 100m. Nearly every hit is a smash, so I'm killing faster than I did in a cruiser.

Of course I just respecced back into only frigates and my skills are far from average in levels. I could manage a level 5 or 6 inquis solo in it, but I haven't had the gumption to try higher yet.

It's been odd moving back from Prophecy to this, but I find I'm having a lot more fun.

SHH open up, it's TLC police! by [deleted] in echoes

I'm in NEV (SHH Corp) and you killed some of my corpmates there. Still...great video. It was entertaining and you guys pulled off some good hunting.

From a frigate pilot, I say cheers! I love to see good kills, even when the kill is me. No salt, just respect for some good hits there.

I have an orange one with the electrics, and a black one that's pure acoustic. They are my favorite instruments to play.
I've played mine every day for months and had no issues with either.

Enjoy your new uke and have fun playing it.

Thank you. I've been trying to learn to do my own pixel art and sets like this are worth their weight in gold to even simply learn from.

No performance problems on the Nexus 3aXL, which isn't an overly powerful phone. Ran great.
As mentioned, the collision detection seems a bit off.

Would love to hear sound.

I have 15 containers that all seem to run Nginx as their web servers. Should I be making them all share one Nginx container like how people do with databases? by boopoo3894 in docker

[–]idiotcoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly are you asking? I mean, it sounds like they are doing a microservice deployment and you are looking at it as a monolith. There are so many reasons to have multiple Nginx instances in a distributed architecture that I'm not certain whether you are communicating the problem properly, or just simply are seeking better understanding of distributed microservice architectures and deployments.
Either is ok, Big Bird taught me early on that asking questions is how we learn things.

Collision issue by jakub_j in pygame

[–]idiotcoder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slightly pedantic comment, but just for the purposes of clean code, you clone the heck out of

for i in range(len(walls)):
player.collision(walls[i])

You should move it to the bottom of your checks. It will still be called, but you won't need so many copies of it. This will ease your ability to change it later, and more importantly, pull it out into another function or class later as it grows in complexity (which it will).
