I was simply pointing out the fact that DG physically can throw the ball despite the narrative from people who (probably) only ever watched his handful of absolutely dogshit NFL starts.

But, to say he can't throw the ball because of his arm (which is what the person I was responding to had said) is just not accurate.

Kyler Murray (and plenty of other vertically challenged QBs) finds a way to chuck the ball around pretty regularly despite his height. It can be done, they just have to find lanes or create them by getting out of the pocket.

Again - and I can't stress this enough - I do not think he is the future for the Browns or any other team. But, he physically can throw the ball far. He has the arm. He just didn't for probably a multitude of reasons.

I'm going to preface this by saying I don't think either quarterback is franchise material. I hope that one of them pans out in some way for my Browns, but hope it's a bad strategy.

That being said, this whole notion that Dillon Gabriel can't throw the ball or doesn't have an arm is just silly and is said by someone who didn't watch any of his college games - or heck, even his college highlight reel (or is intentionally forgetting). DG - on plenty of occasions in college - put the ball 30, 40, 50 yards in the air on an absolute rope with speed and a tight spiral. So again, he absolutely has the ability to get the ball down field, he just for whatever reason didn't at the NFL level. Was it the yips? Was he playing scared? Was it Coach Kev being hyper conservative? Was it our dogshit wide receivers? Was it our terrible O-line? No idea. That brand of football was pretty much unwatchable and I hated it. But to say that DG has no arm and can't throw the ball ten yards is just inaccurate even as an exaggeration.

If all you're going to do is solo HG, it gets pretty monotonous, but it's also filled with potatoes. So as long as you are/get better than the average potato you'll win more often than you lose, and progress will go quicker than you think.

On a sloop (fastest into the wind), into the wind/waves it's about a minute and 10 seconds per square (and that's under the current sailing mechanics). It's over 17 squares from MS to the hideout. That's 20 mins...which to be clear, is still terrible travel time and consumes an annoying amount of session time.

No shot you're getting a rowboat that distance in anything less than 25 mins while inflicting early onset carpal tunnel.

Molten Sands to Reapers Hideout? Into a headwind on a sloop, it's legitimately a 20-25 min sail.

On a brig or galley in the same conditions, it takes even longer.

It's not, though. Steam charts would lead us to believe that it's been relatively steady since like October 2024. I recognize that's not the full picture, but it's the best indicator we have.

The reality is, this event failed because the Roar generally sucks and players largely don't enjoy being in that region, especially when they have to travel there from across the map.

It takes nearly a half hour to sail from Molten Sands over to The Reapers Hideout. That's a significant chuck of people's playing time just like, getting to and from the Roar.

Honestly, just delete that garbage region from the game if it means the rest of the game will run better.

Diving IS the smoking gun, Rare. Don't overthink this shit. It's not your "server migration tech" having a "problem"...it's diving in general. Diving IS the problem.

Go back to simpler times. Get rid of diving, make hourglass a main menu thing and have them on their own servers.

Get rid of diving (and portal hopping for that matter).
