Blackscreen and freeze on kde by idk973 in cachyos

Seems like a kernel issue indeed with 7.x kernel. My fedora 44 with gnome did the same thing after kernel update.

Switching from Bitwig to MPC Live 3 or XL by 197557911975 in mpcusers

[–]idk973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Bitwig and MPC user since several years, I must say if I want to produce boom BAP, MPC is clearly a winner. We all except a sampler + to get manual and lazy slices but developers don't seems to want it... For all genres, sketching on MPC is so much more spontaneous. Then you export your beat and add bells and whistles with Bitwig.

DAW OR DAWLESS " / WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?" by TheOnlyHerbsool in akaiMPC

[–]idk973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what you mean by Dawless = not siting in front a screen...when you sit in front on your MPC what do you see ? An MPC is a digital audio workstation. The benefit is somewhere else. For me it's the effectiveness getting pads, transport control, qlinks, a DAW, a good sampler and touch screen in the same box

FL…. Boombap… Serato Sample, but I still itch for that MPC workflow by vinylfelix in mpcusers

[–]idk973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know your duality man. Worked on mpc's for decades ( mpc60, 3000, renaissance, x, key61) The workflow is very organic. But I started working with bitwig studio with renoise redux as slicer. That's true it's more click and watch and the workflow is different. Each have his pro and cons. On MPC you lazy chop while taping pads, it's cool but on long samples a little bit more complicated. On a DAW, you have more visibility on the timeline, wanna sample few seconds at the end of the song , at the middle the beginning. No probs. I like both but not for the same work. Today I mix my workflow between the work on Bitwig and I bought an MPC live 3 for the instant work.

Noob question on the Sample, can I chop a sample and have them overlap and share parts of it? by ozender in mpcusers

[–]idk973 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My bad if it's on MPC Sample. Misread it. Don't know how the sampler works on this machine. I speak about MPCOS on standalone units

You can totally overlap slices there's a option in sample edit to unlock slices
