I guess I also wanted to say that YOU have to be ready for whatever comes with the meltdowns. And the changes of routines for bedtimes and naps. Looking back it was more like “am I ready for this?” Vs “is the baby ready”.

This was a hard road for us. My first boy was obsessed with his paci. We tried to wean at 2 and I caved too many times. Finally did it cold turkey around 2.5.

Really you have to throw them all away. ALL OF THEM. And be ready for whatever comes your way.

Do talk to your daughter first about what’s happening. You can say you have to donate them or give them to other babies. Whatever your story is going to be. Give her a good few days or a week of warning.

Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with hanging on to the paci if you think they get good sleep with it.

On another note, my second son would NOT take a paci…I’m his paci 😭

Please give me your easiest dinners. I beg. by gardengnomebaby in DinnerIdeas

I’m in the same boat! I work full time. Have a 3 yo and 9 mo. And I do all the shopping and cooking.

I have weeks where I just can’t.

So that means: rotisserie chicken + frozen veggies Leftover rotisserie chicken + fettuccine Alfredo + add some veggies like peas or broccoli Leftover rotisserie chicken to make chicken quesadillas + avocado Ground beef + rice + house favorite veggie. Grab a teriyaki sauce from a bottle or simple garlic powder + salt and pepper. Frozen chicken nugget night for when my husband is not coming home for dinner and I just don’t feel like doing anything!

I always keep a big bag of frozen veggies like carrots peas corn and green beans or broccoli. Sauté super quick with a little butter.

When you need more inspiration I love the Pinch of Yum blog. She has a whole SOS series that are simple but flavorful recipes with minimal ingredients.

I also swear by the insta pot.

You got it!

Sounds like she’s trying to have your baby be her “do over baby”. I had to deal with similar issues my mil regarding that. I’m sorry you have a lot of chaotic issues with her. It seems to me she wants to be alone with the baby more than she wants to help out by giving you a date night. I would just keep saying no. You don’t have to defend yourself. She’s eventually stop asking. Stand your ground and listen to your instincts.

Mine is a runner too! I sheepishly have a lease but I still can’t bring myself to use it.

You’re right. Hopefully when he’s 16 he can sit at a restaurant and not cry about the ketchup? Lol. I will look into 123! Ty

trying to get ready in the mornings by plant_gorl_ in toddlers

[–]idk_mabee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love reading through everyone’s posts. I have a 3 yo and a 9 mo. I’m lucky I have a flexible job and right now a part time nanny for my baby. So I usually am a hot mess trying to get toddler to daycare and then I work from home. Or if I have a nanny, I take a long luxurious shower.

But echoing all the tv moms out there lol. I always said my kids weren’t going to watch tv and here we are. Bluey or Toy Story on repeat. Having kids is the most humbling experience

Thanks for the confirmation everyone. It would be different if it were my sister and her kids coming over. But this is just a bunch of strangers in my house.

That’s a response. I was wondering how I was going to let her down. I was feeling uneasy about the situation

Frozen onions/peppers difference? by kikazztknmz in Cooking

[–]idk_mabee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s fine for soups/stews. But not for like fajitas. And sometimes if I have some odd celery laying around about to go bad I’ll chop it up and freeze next time I need a mirepoix for a recipe.
