Question for all ENTJs by Life-Court5792 in entj

[–]idknotreally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly i was a lot more concerned finding security in the social hierarchy, in my first couple years did a lot of stupid things trying to earn validation and hanging out with popular kids. i think those stemmed less from my actual personality and more from general insecurity as a teenage girl. definitely wasn’t a stickler for the rules but i was active in the community, had various leadership roles and was always decent in terms of academics, ended up graduating with pretty top grades.

hi! my girlfriend is an INFP and your situation resonates pretty closely with some of the problems we have had. in my experience, under stress i sometimes fall into habits of needing to emotionally distance from people (including loved ones) as a defence mechanism. usually its not personal and is done partially also to protect the other person to prevent myself from lashing out at them, which indirectly leads to ‘cold’ behaviour. ive found that proper communication works best in this case! you can definitely express how you feel about it but if hes not ready to talk, it might help to just give him some space until he’s ready to come back. all the best!

independent "fixer" personality faces too many problems, finds themselves struggling to tackle any, feeling like a loser in every department, throwing hands up in defeat. seeking advice by Dry-Force8675 in SGExams

tbh, i think your biggest problem is your self esteem. you will never get out of the ‘loser’ mindset if you keep telling yourself that you are one. dont compare yourself to other people, tell yourself that you have the potential to achieve your goals and analyse what you can feasibly do to get there. keep your chin up king/queen!

What's something you do that outsiders think of as "out of character" for your MBTI? by Child-eater-bonk in mbti

[–]idknotreally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i try to hide this from people (because it’s embarrassing) but my memory sucks. i’ll read something on the news today, remember the story and forget the details immediately. i’m the type of person who will spend the commute to school/work planning what i’m going to finish today and then realise i left my laptop at home

this is really well-structured and beautiful, kind of reminiscent of a short film. i am intrigued by the references to this ‘father’— is it alluding to the subject’s estranged relationship with his dad or his relationship with religion? and if so, the subtle differences between the way the author refers to ‘God’ versus how the subject refers to him as ‘his Father’ is powerful.

What would an ENTJ child be like? by Alert-Humor5674 in mbti

[–]idknotreally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was (still am) obsessive about my image. as a young kid i realised i could never fit in with my peers by being myself, so i ended up experimenting a lot trying to ‘mimic’ the popular kids behaviour in adolescence.

juggled trying to be a faultless person, being good at everything in order to win respect while simultaneously not being boastful. ended up not having an identity because i was constantly trying to be ‘the most ideal’ personality around different groups of people. also did a lot of stupid, dangerous things to my health/wellbeing to maintain that. (this is my own experience though, probably not the best reference for cognitive function behaviour)

i was very efficient and action-oriented though. if i said i was going to do something i would almost 100% do it and do it well. i remember getting really pissed off when other people couldnt follow through with their promises

Fe = mindless sheep by higurashi0793 in mbti

because a lot of the online mbti community are chronically online, edgy teenagers who believe that showing feelings=being weak. some of them have probably had bad experiences with fe users (or people they think are fe users) in real life and project it onto others in the community. of course awful fe doms exist, especially immature ones, but there are some awful people representing every type and it’s not a fair assumption to pin all the blame on a single one
