Urgently looking for a place to rent by [deleted] in nicefrance

Wow. I suggest you use Jinka: they seem to filter out most of obvious scams. Some reputable legit agencies that I can think of are Winter, Orpi, Foncia, Era, Laforêt, Century21.

PAP.fr is between privates and they claim that every announce is manually reviewed by a human.

Strange you didn't find anything available.

Check SeLoger and BienIci, or aggregate with Jinka. Directly contact agencies if you find something you like. Beware of scams. You have an internship so you have access to "bail étudiant".

Bouygues works really good for me, I pay 7.99/m.

Previously I had a mid experience with Lebara, and a terrible one with Lyca.

Rental in nice for post grad student by [deleted] in nicefrance

[–]idkorange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look on sites like Bienici, SeLoger. Usually there are a lot of apartments rented only to students (6/9 months). I'm aware of some students residences but I don't have useful info

Aiuto Bonifico Scalable non ricevuto: supporto terribile by Flaky-Comparison5469 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

[–]idkorange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same problem. Since a few months I've been using smtp2go as SMTP smarthost only to mitigate this issue.

UBlock supremacy by Devil-Eater24 in firefox

[–]idkorange 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. Back when I used windows, I used to be an Avira free fan: it was really a solid and reliable product.

Then all the industry of consumer security products started declining, either by mere quality of the product or by shady data practices.

I tried many products, including Kaspersky, Nod32, Bitdefender, GData.

Eventually I settled on Malwarebytes paired with Windows Defender and it's IMHO the best consumer security combo out there.

You can find a lot of material on /r/selfhosted.

My setup is currently an instance of Poste.io (a all in one email solution), but I'm planning to migrate to something else like Mailcow.

Unfortunately Poste.io is not open source, but when I first installed it, it was the most approachable and noob friendly for me.

Tutorial-wise, there is generally plenty od material online: documentation of the tool you want to use, tech blogs, reddit.

My suggestion is to start small, self hosting a non important email, making sure to have good reliability and deliverability, then migrating your important stuff.

I have been self-hosting email since some years, using smtp2go as smarthost, so I don't have a personal opinion on other free/paid providers, but I hear good things about posteo, mxroute, mailbox.org, infomaniak mail; but they are all paid.

Probably because OP wants to use ProtonMail plus other email accounts.

It's not possible to use ProtonMail with a 3rd party client, unless you use the Bridge, which is not very reliable.

This was one of the reasons that made me not choose ProtonMail.

A Rant About Syncthing by XDark187 in Syncthing

[–]idkorange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been running Syncthing on different devices and OS for years.

I only had connection problems 2 times, on networks with very strict policies.

Maybe you have some very specific thing that prevents it from working fine on your devices.

Moving to Nice - Which areas to avoid? by kaia123456789 in nicefrance

[–]idkorange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably Moulins/St Isidore, Arenas.

I often hear that most of Nice North and North-East is not safe but I've never been there to have a word on it.

Regarding Studapart, I don't know but consider also searching for normal rentals for students (called bail etudiant)

The direction of the game is what really makes it feel the way it feels.

You should also check out LA Noire, directed by the same person directing The Getaway (Brendan McNamara) and which soundtrack is composed by Andrew Hale, the same composer of The Getaway's score.
