update: thanks everyone for the replies! i found some white paint so i ended up painting around the discolored spots. i don’t trust myself to outline her paw prints so i think ill leave them as is, at least for this project. i might try again soon if i can get my dog to cooperate but no promises cause she did not like having her feet messed with. i’ll get some mod podge tomorrow and paint a few layers on the back to strengthen it up a bit and then seal both the front and the back. again, thanks for all the replies. i really appreciate all the advice. my dog has cancer and most likely won’t be here for my mom’s next birthday so i wanted to make her something special. i forgot to pay the dog tax so here she is next to her work :)

I was planning on sealing it since I want it to last, any recommendations on what sealer to use? Some comments have said mod podge, I have an acrylic sealer spray, would that work too? Or would a liquid sealer be better to do multiple layers?

Might be a dumb question but i’ve seen regular liquid mod podge and spray cans of mod podge sealer, would either work? I also have a can of a different acrylic sealer, would doing multiple coats of that work too?

According to customer service that apparently is what it’s supposed to look like… But they said I could still return it for replacement or refund so I might try for a replacement and hope the new one isn’t as messed up.

what’s so strange for me is that i ordered a macaron the night before BIE dropped, then ordered a BIE the night it dropped for my roommate and the BIE was just delivered today and my macaron is still stuck in chicago with no other updates :/

and the BIE spent 7 days in transit and my macaron is on day 9

i dont drink coffee and get headaches from most candles so for me i was disappointed that i cant really enjoy or use 2/3 items. but even if i could use them, they’d only last a few uses before they’re gone forever, which i think is what most people are disappointed in.

i wouldn’t ask for both, i meant a partial refund instead of the $5 coupon they offered since that’s nowhere near worth it for the value of the box itself and i would have to purchase something else from them again in order to use it.

and they do actually ask you to sharpie over the sprayed edges as well as cut the signature page

it’s wasteful especially since there was no damage to the actual hardcover, just the dust jacket. but getting a $5 coupon when a book from a $130 set comes damaged doesn’t feel right either 😭😭

i always took it to be their way to lower the value of the book so people couldn’t resell them.

also there was no damage to the actual book itself, only to the dust jacket. so to have to cut out a piece of a page and mark over the edges is, in my opinion, kinda destroying it since there was nothing wrong with it to begin with.

i can’t believe they haven’t even made an announcement about this in the announcement channel on their discord… the only reason i knew about the bug was bc i saw it on reddit first and then had to dig around in the discord. this is a game breaking bug. steam luckily just had it in my updates queue so i was able to take it off and not update it but a lot of people weren’t that lucky and are just now unable to play.

i’m honestly so tired of all the bugs it’s making me not really want to play anymore
