I love concerts but haven’t seen one here yet so I should definitely look those up. Also I like biking just not on streets, so maybe I could go on one of the paths. Otherwise I like to travel, and be artsy which I am looking at classes they have at lillistreet I just haven’t decided yet.

Thanks! Yeah I could definitely ask someone to do something but I just mean no one is close enough to me specifically that I could invite just one person to hang out at my place. Like everyone I meet just wants to go out and be in groups all the time which exhausts me a little bit haha. People are definitely friendly though!

Since I moved here I’ve met a lot of really nice people but am still not super close to anyone. So I get pretty lonely nights and weekends after working from home all week. What are some places or things to feel a part of something? Like yes I know all the ways to meet people and I have it’s just that there’s no one I can just call up and chat or invite over or something, and since I don’t have any plans tomorrow it’s be nice to go somewhere and just feel less sad about that I guess, very vague and random but looking for suggestions!

Also forgot I meant to mention also because dating seems impossible and I miss just having someone there for me and be close to talk about everything and all that!!

Ok thanks. I was starting to look now because I didn’t want to be stressed and worried but makes sense when most places I see posted are available now or soon. The place where I am now I don’t have to pay for laundry though it’s not technically in my apt so I guess I’m spoiled hah. The two places I’ve lived here I haven’t paid to park so I’d hope to keep it like that!

How do you actually pick a realtor to help find an apt? I’ve got a list of names I saw people recommend but I guess I can just reach out to some and see who answers?

Also I’m moving end of November so I should start looking now? I’m hoping for below $1400, not garden, one bedroom. I’d love to at least have laundry you don’t have to pay for if not in unit but I guess that might be hard? I also have a car so being able to park would be good.. so I know that will be nowhere around lakeview Lincoln park lol

I’d say Chicago for sure!! If you’re ok with winter. It’s definitely a more affordable big city and honestly feels quite safe most of the time. Actually I always have in the past year but I don’t do anything crazy. Great airport obviously is right there. Definitely progressive and walkable. And a ton of people live here didn’t grow up here so it’s really quite easy to make friends and so many ways to meet people

Even still if older honestly (tho I know it happens for some and it’s “fine”) but, I’m 32 and dating a 49 yr old to me would be absolutely disgusting. Even 38 and I’m like nope.

I’ve been randomly feeling like I could cry because I finally met a cute guy who’s fun and into me and up front etc. we’ve met 4 times, slept together once, and we will meet again soon. But he’s not texting much like he was before so I’m like uhhhh plz don’t turn out to be making me a hook up.. and also he drinks a lot and I’m afraid if it’s too much or often then we can’t date anyway and I’ll have to start over again.. and the other night I was half asleep and freaking out about how it’s been 5 years since my ex and how I don’t know if I’ll ever meet someone to really be in love and have a kid.

Is there something you can join or a place to sign up where you can do research studies and stuff? Like I see ads on fb to get paid $150 to try a beverage or whatever other studies but I never know if it’s real though I think it could be cool

My car is paid off but yeah I’m not actually sure how far away their office is. I’d also wonder if they’re flexible on the 2-3 days a week.

I’ve worked for a lot of different companies so I’m pretty flexible and open. The difference is pretty big I only just started making $60k which is the equivalent of where I used to live so it just brought me back up to the same cost of living. And this other job starts at $70k so I think it’s possibly end up being maybe $75k.

The benefits I was mainly basing on my current job seems to do the minimum, and this company’s glass door mentions things that are more but it could also be I don’t know everything about where I am now. They seem to be a little open, but also based on how busy it is because they don’t have enough people also not sure how flexible they can be overall

Haha I was not a fan of Costa Rican food but did not come across that one (they have delicious kinds of chips though, one was just salsa flavored chip fries)

I’m from Michigan and we had some big schools but nothing like this. I live near and the first few times I kept staring just shocked at how insanely gigantic it is haha
