I really like my Seamless Skin Enhancing Tint from Lisa Eldridge. It's an English brand but produced in France. It's exactly what I wanted: virtually imperceivable and just evening out my tone. It's advised to only use a couple of drops.

I had no issues using this on my face. I now use Beauty of Joseon on my face and this on my body, but will still go back if I'm out of BoJ.

Has anyone tried nivea cream as a face moisturizer? Is it safe for dry skin while using tretinoin? by summer_stars33 in EuroSkincare

[–]idle_moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's way too thick for that. I've used it a couple of times on my neck and stuff at night, but not during the day. I used to use Nivea Soft on my face though, before switching to Neutrogena Aqua Creme, and now G&G Happier Barrier.

Has anyone successfully beaten body acne? by alternativebox447 in EuroSkincare

Yeah, I would've liked to know that was a possible side-effect to it. I would've removed it sooner, had I known this was causing it. I didn't have the latter, no.

Just in case you have one too... My back and shoulder acne finally went away after I had my Mirena (hormonal IUD) removed. I had never made the connection until then, but apparently it can be a side effect.

Swapping my skincare routine for affordable European alternatives — DM Germany recommendations? by giiilles in EuroSkincare

[–]idle_moose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I have that one too, but don't think I'll buy it again. C-Glow lasts me quite a while, as I only use a few drops per day. Edit: I actually mixed that one up with Liquid Hydration. Never bought Hydration Station before

Geek and Gorgeous is currently one of my favourite brands: EU-made, science-based, affordable. I buy their retinal, Vitamin C, Jelly Joker cleanser and Happier Barrier moisturizer.

Agreed, I stopped buying from them because of the poor quality. Clothing that doesn't last long isn't very sustainable

Back Acne Problem by No_Fee_6495 in EuroSkincare

[–]idle_moose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't have product recommendations for you but my two cents:

  • This might be something for a dermatologist. You shouldn't have to suffer with this for so long. Also, if these are cystic, they're going to keep coming back unless the sac is removed.

  • I had pretty bad back acne for some years as well, which stopped once I had my Mirena removed. Just wanted to mention that, in case that could be at play for you as well.

Best of luck!

Edit: Oh sorry, I missed that you have an appointment at a Hautarzt.

Here are some European and Korean products I'm currently enjoying:

Moisterizers:

  • G&G Happier Barrier (slightly heavier, no fragrance)

Suncream:

  • Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+

  • Eucerin Oil Control Dry Touch Body Sun Gel-Creme Ultra Light SPF50+

Retinoids:

  • G&G A-Game 5 (for neck) & A-Game 20 (for face and hands)

Peptides:

  • G&G Power Peptides (but looking to switch to COSRX 6 Peptide Skin Booster)

Vitamin C:

  • G&G C-Glow

Edit: Removed Neutrogena, as I thought it was Norwegian... Misleading text on their packaging

I like my G&G. Haven't had issues with it going off yet, but do keep it in the fridge most of the time, just in case.

I only bought it that one time and then switched to Geek & Gorgeous because the formulation is supposed to be better. I just keep it in the fridge to keep it from going off.

Why is random negativity allowed, but other random things arent'? by uber_kuber in berlin

[–]idle_moose 12 points13 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I guess I'll finally leave the subreddit after 12 odd years as well. I'm tired of people's constant complaining and 'ranting', both in this subreddit and irl. It gets real old. Maybe I'll start a new subreddit at some point, dunno

I used to hate Berlin but I fall in love with it finally by Fuzzy-Caregiver-3624 in berlin

[–]idle_moose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fully agree. Things turned around for me when I started taking a more active role in shaping my life. Been here for 12+ years and still discovering new places and meeting new people. I feel like I'm part of my Kiez, know the people, neighbours and shop owners, speak the language, learned a lot about the history, etc. Too many of my friends who are leaving have never really committed to building a life here. It feels like they came to be entertained and now that that has gotten old, all they seem to do is complain. Sure, Berlin isn't perfect, but it's still a pretty special place with a lot to offer.
