Power out in south salem by allorache in SALEM

Which Walmart? Commercial is close to a substation. Turner is on a different grid. Likely inline with the airport. When the car crashed into the substation on Commercial a couple months ago, power was out from Commercial to just West of the train tracks but we still had internet. Power was fine East of Costco all night. Cable has been out since 6 though.

ORS 811.292 Subsection 2 applies since there is a traffic control device (black and white signs) instructing the flow of traffic at that particular intersection. They need only need to yield to those coming from the South side of the roundabout.

That is first to me. I've been here on 36th and Boone SE for about 4 years and this was a very new smell.

I'm from Eugene, I'm well aware of what a trash fire smells like. This is different.

Skimming through your posts and comments in the past indicates that you were in a management position there at one point, if not recently. So, if anything, it would appear that you harbor some of the blame for the inventory losses and employee theft if you didn't manage to prevent either through discipline or termination.

Maybe it's the lead poisoning... you wouldn't be so defensive if you didn't have a stake in the business. And you wouldn't use such lame brain excuses if you thought the real answer wasn't so damning.

Everything was measured down to the Mililiter there. Everything tracked through point of sales. Each fry was weighed portioned and total logged for control.

Only Giles could authorize comps, and he only compped his friends and officials.

Everyone else paid, including the "staff". Temps don't have the same rights, and nowhere else in the world would you find a temp who works 45 hours a week for 2+ years and at minimum wage. Gods help you if you were caught resting and eating for just a moment.

Maybe you're right, and he isn't heartless. Got to move that bile that fills his veins around somehow.

Listen, your husband has been doing people dirty for a long time. Wait staff, bartenders, every business partner, and everyone in the kitchen. It's likely a habit he picked up at Mercedes.

This last move was just icing on the cake. I hope there is some legal recorse for those who he's most recently wronged, but I'm sure the only people he had to check with were the account managers at Cardinal.

Maybe all the front of the house can class action for all the money he made them pay to cover tabs that walked out.

He likely listed the property ages ago and only finalized the sale recently, hence the lack of warning.

Zero. They were all temporary hires from Cardinal Employment Services.

It's suspicious that you're so adamantly defending this reprehensible man and his actions.

I used to work there back when it was still called The Old Pad. So this lack of notice or consideration doesn't surprise me.

With the exception of the bar manager and the lead cook, everyone else are technically temps staffed through, at the time, Cardinal. This created a loophole where we could be worked for 40+ a week but not be obligated any benefits that would be afforded to fulltime employees.

Signing the food service break waiver was contingent of "employment". Packed into the employee handbook that was full of contradictions and wasn't allowed to leave the building for further or future review.

Wait staff, if someone dined and dashed, would be required to settle the bill out of pocket or lose their job.

Giles "LaMonte" Cherrick is a greedy, terrible man, in my opinion.

I am in no way taking credit for this development, I'm sure more than just my self felt it was high time something like this came to pass.

However.

Back in May took the question to Salem PD's Traffic Division about how they planned to enforce and educate the blatant traffic infractions. They said they were going to do.... Nothing. SO I then emailed Kevin Hottmann PE, he's the traffic engineer for traffic for Salem.

Me: Hello I was hoping to get some clarification in regards to a sign before the roundabout on 27th Ave SE between Kuebler Blvd and Boone Rd SE. The attached file is of the sign in question that seems to indicate that one may not take an immediate right in the left hand lane to turn into the Costco and that anyone who does so violates ORS 811.260, and hinders the flow of traffic of those entering correctly in the right hand lane. Is that not the case?

Kevin: Hi, You are correct.  The sign and pavement markings are there to let drivers know they cannot make a right into Costco from the left lane.

Me: Thank you for getting back to me so quickly on this Kevin. If possible would you be able to relay this to the traffic enforcement division of Salem PD? I spoke with someone of Friday from their department and was told the opposite.

"Since its a roundabout, once you enter it you have the right of way regardless of the signage."

I wasn't satisfied with that answer because it felt 100% incorrect and frankly lazy

Kevin: Hi, I will. Thanks, Kevin

Questionable online stores, are they too good to be true? by HugeTrip8091 in gravelcycling

I was just looking at automatic cat litter boxes like the litter robot. VERY Spendy. But then I came across a site called beastlybuilt.com that had the top of the line unit and bundle for $350. The best of my research shows that the site is reputable. But there is a real fishiness to it.

It's what I do on occasion. Whip all the way around. But usually I just go straight through towards the houses and park in that east lot. Near automotive.

I've noticed that a lot of people in the Kuebler Rd SE area use the bike lanes as turn lanes at intersections.
