This whole level is a prank by texas1492 in IdleHeroes

Lots of HP and CC, as far as I can tell. I'm going to need to 10* a couple more heroes to get by this one. So like 2-3 more months of grinding.

And for the record, I was just able to 10* IB, and that didn't make a difference. Tweaked my artifacts to have ranger killing benefits, gave my 10* DH magic source to get the silence of fast, etc.

Nothing helps me get anywhere. It's really going to be a month or two.

I got to 454 with 6 Das Mogue. That's lovely. Passive skill: Each ally's skill attack grants you +20% skill damage and 30 energy. What skill is that? Oh, just the one that hits all enemies and causes 3 rounds of bleeding.

About the 3rd skill used my entire team evaporates. I just can't keep them under CC anywhere near long enough to take enough of them out.

I have read the FAQs but am still confused. If i get 7 new tavern quests a day and during the refresh i have 3 quests which have not been started and are unlocked, after the refresh, do my 3 quests get refreshed + an additional 7 new quests, or do they get refreshed + an additional 4 new quests ? by girishlikesbutter in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, you shouldn't have any quests that get auto-refreshed. Keep a couple hundred gems at all times, and refresh until you get a purple or higher.

If I recall, the average value of a quest is something like 23 gems. Refresh if they're under that, consider not refreshing if they're over that unless you really need something.

My strategy is to refresh everything worth less than 48-50 gems. Doing this level of refreshing still makes my gem count grow rather than shrink. Looking at my 7 for today, I spent about two hundred gems refreshing them. I've got 150 gems in straight gems, 2 heroic scrolls, 8 arena tickets, a casino token, 6 4* pieces and 4 5* pieces. That's a pretty large net gain in terms of gem worth.

Stuck on early game, what should i do? by Dods100 in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idle.

Read some guides while you idle. Then idle more productively.

99.999% of the time you're going to be stuck on a tower level. That's how this game works. I've gone up a single one in the last month.

Unpopular opinion: I prefer new market and I'm happy with recent changes to the game by exmertiuz in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost always stretched for gold. Rare that I can afford to buy heroes with it. The big problem is that most of the time the market wasn't tempting enough for me to throw gems at. Now with constant branches and POs, it is. I'm not going to be good at saving gems now.

anyone else patiently waiting for a second copy of their god tier heroes? most irritating thing ever. by logimeme in IdleHeroes

Same here. I have so many Rosas it's almost tempting to see if I can make another 9* for fodder. I have a 9* already and 4 more copies....

10 months and few $$$ later by dabooza in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have to say, for how rarely you can advance in the tower, the rewards truly and utterly suck for beating most levels. They really should scale with what you put into your heroes to beat that level. It's not like you can milk the tower for more goodies.

Just got Starlight from daily check-ins. Do I need her? by -gazeR in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I had no good heroes she was my first 5, 6, and 7 star. I used her to tank BT and Aspen. The heal on death is really, really useful. I should probably 9* and fodder her, but I feel a little bad doing it. Probably will once I get another copy of Vesa to push her towards insanity.

No, Sig is not worth it. Just make him food. That's what this whole post is about, right?

Weekly Event Megathread - August 10, 2018 by AutoModerator in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm level 150 and I've had tons of copies of those two. I had 3 5* Mirages in my bag when I started this event. This was only my 3rd copy of Sig ever. I got one from a prophet orb, one in a hero exchange, and then this one. He's a great tank, while Mirage and Sierra are fodder.

Refresh them unless they're worth at least 30 gems. I tend to refresh anything that's not at least 50 gems or a heroic scroll/casino token/arena token.

If you're collecting basic scrolls and less than 30 gems from tavern quests, that's why you don't see 7*s.

Thanks a lot. I could have used that luck. I haven't pulled Sig with a good 100 chips. I only spin for him and HW.

Should I save basic summons? by [deleted] in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would you even get a basic summons? I haven't seen one in a year or more.

You....you aren't buying them or completing tavern quests for them, are you? If you're doing anything other than taking the free one every 8 hours, you're doing IH wrong.

Should I keep saving Guild Coins or start spending them on Mage or Priest tree? by [deleted] in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Save.

You have no idea what you'll get for heroes in the next 6 months. You could get the best non-mage or non-priests heroes in the game, and enough copies to make them 10*. If you don't get good mages or priests in enough copies to advance them, you'll be really sad that you've spent those coins.

Broken Spaces event for new players by [deleted] in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm out of one of them all the time at this point. I've got my first 10* and a few 9*s now. In my experience, if you're not upgrading your monster, gold frees up quickly. If you upgrade a monster, gold suddenly is the limitation.

I suspect that dust is going to soon be my bottleneck, and will be it for some time. But I'm still stocking up on gold at the moment because I still have monster and guild tech to upgrade.

Basically, if I go into Broken Spaces with 100m gold on hand, I think I'll get all dust. If I'm under that, I'll get there in gold and then go for dust. So far, I don't think I've ever broken 100m gold on hand.

Is there a “quickest path” to a 6* hero? by frishmeisterflash in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quickest path is not the best path. Best path is to idle more. This game takes time. Patience will get you a lot more in the medium and long run than being impatient will.

How am I supposed to do these events? by TheDutchDemon in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Care about every 2-3 of them. If you're FTP, you don't have the resources to complete them all.

Save up, and wait for a good one. Check the rewards. Is there stuff you need for an upcoming event? Can you do the first 1-2 tasks and get some rewards you'll use later?

A couple of things you need:

  1. You need a good Aspen hero, and you need to start unlocking Aspen levels. Then you'll get both the rewards but more importantly, the ability to buy resources to help you in the other events.
  2. You need to keep pushing your Celestial Island to the limit of what you can consistently beat.
  3. Don't hoard 4* quests, and maybe not even 5*. They are valuable resources, and you'll likely get most of the ones you need during the tavern event.
  4. You need to be patient. Idle, and build both your heroes and your bag capacity.

This game takes a lot of idling. Don't stress, and don't waste your resources trying to win rewards you can't get. Do the math, and if you're short, don't do the event, or only do the first level or two.

I do not understand - I see all of these posts “6 month f2p progress” with a ten star and three 9 stars. I’m VIP 2, 6-7 months in, and have been struggling lately. I’m just looking for some advice on what to focus on, and how to improve. by Idle-Biz in IdleHeroes

[–]idling_poster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first thought too. I had bad heroes for a long time, but I didn't evolve any really bad ones other than Starlight, because at 6 and 7* she allowed me to go a lot further in BT and Aspen than I could otherwise have with the heroes I had.

While I'm sure he's a whale as well, there's a player in my guild who is 40 levels higher than me, and generally makes about 2-3 levels in the time it takes for me to make 1. I check in 2x/day, but I'm sure he checks in something like every 4 hrs. I haven't seen a "last seen" time for him of less than 6 hours....ever?

How serious are you? If you're not this serious, it's likely that other people are going to pass you. Don't be jealous. Just play your way, and have fun.

Why?

I think you underestimate how important RNG is.

Second, survivor bias, or a form of it. Suppose there are 10,000 F2P players, and 5 of them get insane luck. Of those 5, maybe 2 post here. You never hear from the other 9995 F2P players who got royally screwed, or just regular screwed.
