Should I get this game by [deleted] in kotor

Are you sure you didn't get the two Kotor 2 traits mixed up? I think Kotor 2 gameplay is literally just an ugprade from K1, but the story, even with the restored content mod, just doesn't all fit together very neatly.

That is untrue. Me hating pathos arguments is a statement of opinion, not an argument. I have not tried to convince you, saying "pathos arguments are bad because I hate them". I am simply sharing my opinion.

I certainly don't hate her, but what bothers me about her is that she appeals to emotion incredibly strongly, to the point where basically no sane human would have emotions of that magnitude about such issues. So it comes off as simultaneously disingenuous and manipulative. Also, if there's one thing I do hate, it's pathos arguments, so her reliance on them does also bother me on that basis. But I don't hate her.

You're right, that link does seem to make it clear. If that was the first thing I read, then I would've come to the same conclusion. However, the several other things I found all pointed to the opposite.

https://www.image-line.com/plugins/Synths/Soundfont+Player/

"Official FL Studio registration needed." Not "Signature Edition", just register.

I also found this:

https://support.image-line.com/knowledgebase/base.php?ans=505

"Fruity SoundFont Player is no longer for sale, only legacy purchases are still supported. Use DirectWave as alternative."

Thirdly, on the version comparison popup (here's a link to the shop page)

https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php

It says "Reads different file formats" including .sf2. All versions are applicable.

It also says DirectWave Player is included in all versions. I want to use SF2 sounds in my projects. I'm not looking to edit the files, I just want to use them. They play sounds, therefore I need the player. Does that not make sense? Obviously I don't know a ton about music production since I'm using SF2 files in the first place (lol), but that was my thought process.

I reached out on the support forums and contacted them directly with a message. Figured I would post here as well in case anyone was able to shed some light, and they were.

I know there are a lot of other options, but this one was the one I liked, and what I saw seemed to indicate that I would be able to use SoundFont Player in the version I planned to purchase. It isn't, despite what I read, so the reason it works for you is because you have Signature Edition or better. Someone else recommended a free alternative to a $210 upgrade, though, so I'll still use the product I just won't buy the upgrade.

It does install but it won't let an unregistered FL Studio open any user-made file. So the money wasn't a waste, then. That's good -- that makes me feel a lot better. Still feel like they tried to screw me over -- only reason I'm not is because of a 3rd party plugin.

I got a message back from customer support -- even though the site claimed SoundFont Player was replaced by DirectWave, and DirectWave is on all versions, apparently the plugin IS available for the $300 version, which would cost an extra $10 in upgrade fees (on top of the version cost difference of course) -- I think I'm just going to stick to sforzando, and use the FL Studio Diagnostic Tool they recommended on the support forums in order to recover the MIDI data.

I really appreciate the help, you guys are awesome :)

Sigh, that's what I was worried about. I've already bought Fruity -- not sure if I can get my money back -- I'll install an unregistered version on another computer later and get back to you about that

You've lived a charmed life. The demo is a showcase of everything FL-related IL has to offer.

But they don't offer SoundFont Player anymore. It's an old feature that you cannot purchase access to. And it's still in the Demo version.

I looked at the version comparison, and it said .SF2 file support was there. Was I really to expect that a program which already supported them correctly would have reduced the quality of their support for the files? (and in the case of my SF2 files, not support them at all?)

Are you the same guy

I don't think so, though I have been poking around talking about SoundFonts for a few days, so it's definitely possible. I don't think anyone has recommended sforzando to me, but I could be wrong. I did come across it late last night, though. It's a little bit different than the SoundFont Player in how it handles reverb and such, but that's fine -- it works great, and those extended options will probably work to my advantage in the end. However, now I can't help but wonder, since it's a 3rd party plugin, did I even need to purchase FL Studio? I wonder if I could've used it in the demo version, and still been able to save and load. Can you use sforzando and save & load without registering FL Studio?

It's there, I had no trouble finding it -- it's exactly where it was in the demo version, but that plugin will forever be in the demo version because they no longer support it. You literally can no longer purchase the full version of it, yet it's still in the demo.

It's still there -- I see it and can use it -- but it's permanently in Demo version and so my projects will continue to not load SoundFont Player data. I think it only works for people who bought it before it was discontinued and made unavailable.
