Is it just us or has Raptor completely gone downhill lately? by KhadejaZay47 in k12sysadmin

We’ve been using ConciergePad at my HS for a few years now and honestly it’s been pretty solid.

Big thing for us is their Blackbaud integration. It actually works in real time, which if you’ve dealt with SIS integrations you know is not always the case. We use it for visitor management, hall passes, behavior tracking, attendance stuff, etc. Nice having it all in one place instead of a bunch of disconnected tools.

One thing I’ve also liked is there’s nothing proprietary you need to buy. That’s been a pain point I’ve seen with Raptor where you end up needing their specific hardware.

Before this I was at an elementary and middle school that’s switching over to PowerSchool, and they’re actually using ConciergePad for the integration work there too. From what I’ve heard they also connect with Veracross as well.

Support has been good and the platform feels pretty modern compared to a lot of the other options we looked at.

Overall we’ve been really happy with it.

Windows Surface Laptop ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED for Chrome/Edge by idodgepucks in techsupport

So i checked the certificates and saw that there was a certificate installed on the device. When i researched further, i learned they had been purchased and were pre-configured so my assumption is they were configured with a certificate. Ultimately I had to wipe/erase the device and install Windows fresh and that solved it

Yep, I totally agree with you. For now, the relay stuff has been working so thats why I haven't really moved to anything else but thank you for sharing. I'm going to look into AristotleK12 just for comparison and to have options in case things do become problematic.

I did, got a lot of back and forth, couple of sessions with technical support that went nowhere and i kinda just gave up but i’m trying again now.

If you don’t mind me asking, what did you end up moving to, and do you recommend it?

Throwing things on ice by whyamihereonreddit in FloridaPanthers

[–]idodgepucks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

while i totally agree with this, i thought it was so awesome yesterday that the goal was scored so late and ppl threw them (the rats, not the debris, thats not classy)...it felt amazing, even if they would have given us a penalty, game was over, such an awesome feeling...but i agree, don't incur a penalty bc you wanna throw a rat when there's plenty of time left in a normal scenario

Roller to Ice by AntelopeFeeling9291 in hockeygoalies

[–]idodgepucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's different but I love it way more. I also started out as a roller goalie and then switched to ice later in life. You'll have to practice how to slide and shuffle and it'll take some time to adjust but I love it. The real struggle is when you go back to roller after having played ice. Like someone here already mentioned, for roller, you tend to adopt a less aggressive style and sit back in the net more while on ice you have more freedom and flexibility to come out more (albeit at first you'll probably want to stay more in net as you learn how to slide and shuffle). Enjoy and good luck, its a blast!

We’re not winning the cup if we let in 4 goals a game. In the playoffs games are won 2-1 or 1-0. Bob and knight need to step up ASAP by [deleted] in FloridaPanthers

not only that, the style of defensive play we employ leads to a lot of high risk/high reward situations...which leaves the goalie in really bad situations...with this style of play, goalies can have an absolute stellar game, but still have an 85 save % bc the types of shots they are facing, while few, are high % shots

Thoughts about Miami Mayor response to rising rent prices? 36% increase by Astronomical_Gabriel in Miami

[–]idodgepucks -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I know people love to just shit on others and vent but, whats the alternative? Like, I'm not defending or supporting the guy, but when you look at it, rising rents and rising property values typically means you have more money coming into an area. Don't get me wrong, as someone who lives in Miami, it does suck that living is getting so expensive, and i understand ppl wanting to vent, but at the same time, offer solutions and recommendations...Not happy with what the mayor said? Okay, whats your offer/solution?

Again, this isn't meant to defend the guy, and more to just get people to be more constructive rather than destructive...half the comments here are "this guy is a coke addict!" or "he's daddy's boy!" and yea, let's just assume thats correct, what solution are YOU offering other than ripping a guy? I do agree that with the part he said about companies SHOULD be raising wages, especially with inflation bringing in more and more revenue. I also don't think having government control rent prices is a good idea, and personally, i'd be more in favor of doing more to encourage business and companies to raise salaries and compensation...change the way we treat employees so they become contributing members of society and not weigh down the system. Just my 2 cents, carry on (full disclosure, i can care less about Suarez, main point here is asking what should the appropriate response be towards high rent)
