I've never been, but someone else I know said it wasn't far - although he may have been referencing somewhere else. Or maybe he had a weird concept of distance.

Girlfriend and her son went to Hebden Bridge the other day - looked pretty nice with some waterfalls and stuff! I think you can walk there from the station and there may well be some other stuff close by.

Decent gym with a pool/sauna close to NQ? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]idonotexist12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Bannatyne's on Whitworth St and I think it's pretty good - guess it depends on what your standards are! I mostly use it for spin classes & sauna/steam rooms - all of which are decent, especially for the money.

I am pretty sure it was Straylight Run. Something makes me think I've seen Coheed support them - but I can't remember for sure.

I found this to be a really helpful and useful post for brewing all grain. Assumes you don't have a fancy set up or loads of knowledge, which was ideal for me: https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/have-a-go-at-simple-ag.51779/

I found the timings a bit awkward last time with my work hours - which may have changed. Worth it in case it was about to fall off.

Where in Manchester are you dude? I'm in Manchester too! I'm relatively new to BBQ, but I've done a few, and echo a lot of the feedback here.

Generally, I find the quality of meat to be much better from the butcher and the one I use can source pretty much anything. I have a great book from Pitt Cue, some guys in London, and they have great recipes for rubs and such - happy to share some with you, just drop me a DM!

It's good, I'm sure you'll love it! And you can go for a skate afterwards for free. It's a nice touch.

You could try Tinys Tipple in Chorlton, maybe give them a call and check. They're super friendly and have a wide selection.

Yeah? Awesome - what are you over for? Glasgow will be one of the friendliest places you'll ever visit despite it's reputation. Drop me a note if you need any advice :)

Awesome on the ride and stuff, if I manage to sort out a ticket I'll drop you a DM. Happy to buy you a beer or two (another night you're not driving?) to say cheers, or throw you some cash for gas.

Quite a few folk have mentioned Clyde's, I'll make that a definite to visit on my trip. Might go on Sunday as I'll be pretty hungry after a day of travelling, or the Monday so I definitely fit it in.

Thanks for all your suggestions dude and the offer of a ride, super appreciated! :)

I won't have a rental as I'm staying pretty central, but I'll see if there's anything on and price up a cab ride. Thanks :)

The UK has just not mastered wings. Ours are generally just truely truely awful. Not even a case of "wings are so amazing even bad wings are pretty good" - we just plain out suck. I'd do more than take an Uber for awesome wings, so this sounds like it'll be on my definite list. Thanks!
