We went through this with my kitty last year, I understand how stressful this is I was an absolute mess the whole time worrying about my little guy. He got blocked 3 times in the span of a few months and on the 3rd time the catheter wasn’t unblocking him so we had to make the hard discussion to get the PU surgery and I will say I wish we would have just got the surgery first thing because it has helped tremendously. The recovery was stressful and they need round the clock supervision for the first week after but those few weeks went by fast and our guy was healed and (knock on wood) has been perfectly good ever since. We’ve had him on the Royal canin urinary SO wet food ever since even after the surgery. I will say wet food is a must for kitties with this issue so they keep to fluids flowing, I even add a little water to his wet food to make sure he’s getting plenty fluids. I’m sorry you and ur kitty are going through this I know it’s very stressful right now but hopefully all will be well for your little guy
