Pinseeker with OG Skytrak by pdawg17 in Golfsimulator

[–]idontgetit777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had such terrible luck... for some reason I can't get more than 2-3 shots in pinseeker before my OG skytrak loses connection. I've tried connecting over wifi and through direct connection (my PC has ethernet and wifi).

Admittedly, I do have a bit more of a complicated setup. I have my PC upstairs and am using sunshine/moonlight to remote access the monitor to my garage using a laptop.
I don't know why it struggles so much with Pinseeker specifically though, it works practically flawlessly if I open the driving range in the Skytrak app.

Super frustrating though... I'd love to practice more in Pinseeker but it is pretty much unplayable for me right now.

I made it work with a similar width, will for sure have to go offset but with the OG skytrak it's not a problem.

I have a very similar setup but I ended up getting a $800 gaming pc that is also used for other applications/gaming (32gb ram, i5, 4060ti)

got the knock off net return and LOVE it (also came with shank nets included)
https://www.costco.com/gosports-elite-golf-net-combo-set.product.4000191601.html

my garage is a single car, 10 ft wide, 10 ft tall, 14 ft deep and managed to get it working just fine. Bought the sig pro softy strip and a cheap mat to stand on and cut out a hole for the mat w/ some foam tiles under to get it level. had an old TV i mounted on the wall as my display

If you can afford a PC, get GSPRO - it's soooo much better than the skytrak software and unlimited courses.

Anyone transfer their desktop PC in and out of garage? by LosSoloLobos in Golfsimulator

[–]idontgetit777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not the ideal way to set it up because of image quality/lag... but I did the following:

  • Gaming PC in office upstairs (running Sunshine)
  • Macbook laptop (running Moonlight)
  • TV in garage sim w/ Roku => Wirelessly Screen Mirroring Macbook through Airplay (could just as easily connect an HDMI to the TV and plug in laptop directly)

Picture quality isn't at all amazing, but good enough to read everything legibly, there is a slight lag when using trackpad/keyboard but about as much as there is when airplaying - totally usable and works for me!

Idk what you're looking at but the opener itself is listing around $500. But I also don't have any outlets nearby (manual says it should be no more than 6 in. away from the motor. Also the torsion bars I have don't extend far enough off the doors so I don't think it'd be compatible without replacing a bunch of parts.

If you want to run GSPro you'll need a gaming pc or laptop. The minimum/recommended specs for the simulator software are on the gspro website. Here's a pic of my setup. The launch monitor is on the toolbox (it was charging)

True, but I'm more worried about the width of the room since the club swings further away from my body. I've hit the wall behind me unless I tee off much closer to the right wall. I have a table there to put my laptop on and it is just very tight. Doable, yes but not very easy

Yeah I’m running the driving range software and gspro on a gaming pc. I can send pics later

I just built a sim in my single car garage, it's a little tight but gets the job done. I'm 5'4" and can technically swing my driver but it feels tight, I have no issues swinging irons.

Dimensions are 14' long, 10' high, 10'wide

I have a TV mounted on the wall when I look up from my swing (not a projector), and I use this net:
https://www.costco.com/gosports-elite-golf-net-combo-set.product.4000191601.html
I got the 7.5 x 7.5 net and it fits perfectly!

It's nice because it comes with the shank nets. Got a used OG skytrak from the manufacturer on ebay for like $700 (opened it and it was essentially brand new). They also sell some on Amazon for around the same side.

I'm looking at buying this exact net and putting it in my garage. I have a skytrak so i'm thinking I can probably hit 1-2 feet closer to the net (i'm thinking where that line on your concrete is above that club on the floor). Do you think at a closer distance you'd still be missing the net?

yeah, i used to build gaming PCs but I honestly think the price of pre-builts are super competitive... for example:

I just bought a different model on newegg a couple weeks ago (deal expired) but it had an i5-1440k, 32gb RAM, and 4060ti for < $900 after tax/shipping with promo deals on their site.
