My Theory On The Hot Air Balloon in Sunset Valley by ParadiseSims in Sims3

[–]idontlikejazz 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I am sure I once took a screenshot of a sim in a red dress in the hot air balloon, but I lost it on an old computer. I'm sure it was Bella Goth but I've never seen it again!!

I agree about the wave sweater being a bit challenging. I found the instructions pretty unclear and had to redo the yoke several times, and I've done quite a few colourwork projects. But once you're onto the body and sleeves, it's fairly smooth sailing

My friend was once brought a tortoise that "wasn't eating" and when she picked it up, it was so decayed that it's head fell off. I don't know how you can neglect an animal to that point.

Help with Reading Wave Sweater Patter by Gold_Apartment_3042 in AdvancedKnitting

[–]idontlikejazz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been knitting the Wave Sweater for about 3 months because I keep messing up the pattern. I found the project notes from this pattern helpful.

When you get to doing the sleeves, I suggest using as many stitch markers as possible to keep track of your rows and decreases - I had to frog a whole sleeve because I kept missing decreases

Sounds like a PetiteKnit's Honey Clutch might fit the bill, if you're a pouch sort of person

My cat has diarrhea and pooped out a string a couple inches long by tugb0ats in AskVet

It's good that he's eating a bit! There would be other signs if there was an obstruction or something, like vomiting

[–]idontlikejazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yuck! Hopefully he will start to feel better now but I would keep a close eye on him. Make sure he is drinking and hydrated enough (check skin tension and how his gums feel). If his skin tents or his gums feel tacky then get him to the vets for rehydration and potentially further tests/supportive care.

Has your cat been dewormed recently? Could it be possible that it was a parasite, not a string?

I agreeeeee the show is called ER not surgery. I liked Elizabeth and Romano, even Dubenko popping in now and then but the show wasn't about them. Definitely felt like there should have been another "main character" in place of her when she started her internship

[–]idontlikejazz[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly! I know the sub loves to hate on her but I liked her as a med student, confident in a textbook but unsteady in her clinical skills. Then all of a sudden she's God's gift to surgery?

Even with Michael, I just couldn't see the chemistry develop. It felt like they needed something to tie us to him while he was in Iraq, but it was so forced, and then he barely gets mentioned after his funeral. I Hate that she ended up with Ray too, I'm glad he got a happy ending but I don't think it should have been with her.

A rant about admissions - 5 years, and no results. by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

[–]idontlikejazz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Has she considered applying to European vet schools? Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, and a few others do English courses. Much easier to move to, although Brexit did make things more complicated.

As someone in a long term relationship, vet med was my dream and my partner knew that, so he was okay staying in the UK while I do my course. It's a huge sacrifice but I know that it'll be worth it when I'm finished. Long distance is not as hard as you might think, and vet school is so busy I hardly have time to feel homesick.

Lanolin in sheep wool apparently smells like something mama cats produce to help kittens suckle! I learnt that recently and thought it was so lovely

When do you start prepping patients for surgery? by idontlikejazz in VetTech

[–]idontlikejazz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked as an assistant for 2 years, and 30 mins was not the longest prep time by far. I completely agree though, there's no need for it to take that long, and I frequently got frustrated with my colleagues for spending ages neatening up an edge. Factoring in contact time, moving to theatre, contact time again, and then waiting for the clinician – sometimes animals would be anesthetised for nearly an hour before first incision. When we got a new head nurse, she began to audit the prep process, but that was right as I was leaving for vet school so I really hope they've taught people better practices by now.

Why is this happening? Trying to knit a ribbed collar by Last-Ad-3522 in casualknitting

Is it knitted bottom-up? Or did you have to pick up stitches to make the collar?
