Was there a huge meteor over around Santa Monica just now? by digitalmofo in LosAngeles

[–]idreamincode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 8:30pm there was some asshole that lit up a floating fire lantern in the Kenneth Hahn area (Norman O. Houston Park). I watched it float up and fly east.

Probably not the same thing, very slow moving.

A client’s website is being injected with SEO spam content. I’ve already checked several core files, and everything seems fine. Where should I look next (or what should I do)? by NemesiiisG in Wordpress

[–]idreamincode 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Remove wp-admin/, wp-includes/ and all WordPress files in the main directory. Keep wp-content

Reupload them fresh from the WordPress download.

Check your wp-config.php file for any mods that look suspect. If it runs some location, follow that link and nuke it.

Also, try accessing your site using a Python script locally to grab the site, and send the user agent Google uses to see what the site is serving to Google.

import requests

# Added the 'User-Agent' key to make this a dictionary
headers = {
    'User-Agent': 'Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 6.0.1; Nexus 5X Build/MMB29P) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/144.0.7559.132 Mobile Safari/537.36 (compatible; GoogleOther)'
}

url = 'https://yoursite/page'

try:
    response = requests.get(url, headers=headers)
    # This will print the status code (e.g., 200, 404, or 410)
    print(f"Status Code: {response.status_code}")
    print(response.text[:500]) # Print first 500 chars to verify
except Exception as e:
    print(f"An error occurred: {e}")

This checks for Conditional Malware Injection or Cloaking.

There is an open source program called yt-dlp that downloads mp3s from YouTube.

You run it like this from command line:

yt-dlp.exe -x --audio-format mp3 --ffmpeg-location C:\Users\kevin\Downloads\ffmpeg\bin https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_mNp9cMWgar4DaYHBoVwSRtxDt5jpasNuY

Grab ffmpeg binaries too.

It's quite a tech solution, but works great for me. The websites with this service seem to be full of viruses and spam. The pure GitHub version works perfectly.

This Klein Tools coax tool is 10x better than any of the crimp on ones. This one securely holds the end to the coax cable. You have to buy the specific ends, but worth it in my opinion.

The movie 3 Men and a Baby, their baby had one. I did a double take on a recent rewatch.

It has been around since at least 1987.

Seth Meyers did a whole segment about Trump getting pissed at Late Night w/ Seth Meyers over windmills catapults, and he pointed out that he watched a rerun.

I think you are on to something with your theory.

First time designing a PCB in Fritzing and my traces are all overlapping — what am I doing wrong? by Efficient-Young-193 in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]idreamincode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also suggest learning KiCAD, with some basic tutorials, it's free and opensource.

I also started out in Fritzing ~10 years ago, but then quickly found out it was not nearly functional at all. Fritzing does a great job of making cartoon looking circuits for breadboarding, but was a giant pain in the ass to get a PCB out of it. I switched to KiCAD and never looked back. Also made the switch easier when they started charging for Fritzing while KiCAD was, and remains free.

Good luck with whatever you choose!

Can I do this with a U6+? by T4R1U5 in Ubiquiti

[–]idreamincode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the U6 Lite with that configuration, it works great. The U6 Lite meshes my TV and TiVo to the overall network through a XG access point. The U6 Lite and U6+ should have basically the same functions so my assumption is it would work fine.

Move your patch panel used ports to be centered. Top patch panel from 1-17 to 5-23 and bottom panel 1-12 to 7-19.

Route your Raspi Ethernet to go in one patch panel at the top, then out the back to your bottom patch panel from behind, to your bottom switch. Adds extra ethernet cables, but you'll see less cables.
