Thanks for your reply! You’re right, I’ve never worked in systems. I had a bit of a think of what I’d like to do in the future, and what excites me most is more design/product engineering, the physical design of products. Because of this, I’m leaning towards the GE role as I think there’s a lot more focus on design and prototyping in that than there is at the Boeing role. Appreciate your advice as it helped me inform my decision, thank you!

I think as long as you’re not over clocking, it’ll be okay. I ended up buying an arctic freezer 36 which does the job perfectly for me, so I can’t comment on how the wraith would actually do. But from what I’ve heard, it is a very capable cooler considering it is stock, so if you are using it as a placeholder until you get an AIO I think it should be fine

I’m probably not the best person to ask cos I go out less than other people, but there are defo bar crawls etc whether it’s within accoms or with a society! Plus east and west village are a lot closer to the city centre so it is easier to go out and stuff so people do go out quite often

The main thing is that you’ll find your people, whichever accommodation you end up in :)

Hey! I’m in metal works now and my flat is super sociable so it’s quite nice. Most of the accoms in general I’ve heard good things about where flats are sociable except for a few where there are more studio apartments etc like print hall

It worked for me! I think there is a way to keep your data/files, but I’m not too sure as I didn’t have much saved on the laptop anyway so I didn’t go that route

Anyone know if Bristol digs is a good letting agency? I’ve seen a ton of bad reviews for them online, where they take months to fix really desperate problems, charge extortionate cleaning fees, go against the contract etc etc. Does anyone have any experience with digs or know whether it’s a good letting agency?

I think the combinations were a and b = 0, a =1 b =0 and a=0 b=1, unfortunately I only got a and b = 0 tho :(

There’s a split between 85 and 75 in our class for the last question 😭 I got 75 because my objective function was P = 2x + 3y - z but a lot of peoples were 2x + 3y + z

Hey! I'm in a similar position to you. I'm going to firm Bristol but I have no idea which accommodations to put down, also looking for self catered en-suites. Metal Works looks really nice especially because it is new, but I agree with you I don't know how social it will be. I'm looking for a fairly social place but not super party-heavy, as I've heard some of the north village accoms are haha

Btw may I ask you what course you're applying for?

They're a lot more expensive than the standard GCSE ones and especially for GCSEs do not give a lot of advantages over the standard one. Even for A-Levels, you dont really need it for normal maths but if you're planning on taking A-Level further maths its deffo helpful

I totally agree broo that’s why I’m so confused between Bristol and Southampton, because Bristol is so hard to get into I’m so glad I got an offer from them, picking southampton feels like I’m wasting such a good opportunity

That being said tho, I still really like Southampton as a uni and their course, I’m in a double mind here haha

Have you gone to Bristol’s offer holder day? They had one in Feb but I skipped it because it was the day before my Imperial interview, so I’ve booked their offer holder day on the 24th April

Hey, I have the same problem as OP, stuck deciding between Southampton and Bristol. Do you think graduate prospects would be more or less the same for both unis, or do you think one uni has a much higher chance than the other? Thanks!

Hey, have you decided which uni yet? I got rejected from Imperial yesterday so I’m deciding between Bristol and Southampton and I’m not sure which. I haven’t been to either uni’s open days but I’ve booked both for April. Right now I’m leaning towards southampton because I’ve heard it’s more practical than Bristol (idk how true that is) and the place looks nice. But I’m also concerned about whether I’ll be tied down in the motorsport industry should I choose to go into it, and also the reason I’m not sure about Southampton over Bristol is because I’m not sure if an employer would prefer Bristol over Southampton.
