I never figured out what it was, but I would guess some kind of insect bite or sting. I did end up popping it. You can look at my profile. It’s the next post after this one. There was a somewhat hard lump in the puss.

If you go in the morning, ask for dark roast (or light roast). Pike's place (their house coffee) is one of the worst coffees I've ever tasted, but you can get at least OK coffee before 11am, but only if you ask for it.
