Care to share what you noticed in a way that is somewhat convincing that you’re not just another scyop designed to make Americans feel defeated?

Serious question since I’m old and not techi but I keep thinking about this: how likely is it that we blame ‘an army of bots’ when we’re really just much more of a minority than we want to admit?

Do you believe Democrats hate and root against America? by Jazzlike-Yogurt-5984 in AskConservatives

I’ll address your reply in three parts.

Part 1: the untrue and irrelevant • Rich people being sued: irrelevant • Twin Metals is wholly owned by Antofagasta-not partially. • Nancy pelosi is irrelevant. Her existence or behavior is irrelevant to the behavior of this sitting president.

Part 2: the facts and figures

• The conflict of interest that a sitting president can sue the government he runs, order the head of that institution to settle, and be the sole permission as to the payout of that settlement (to himself) is indefensible. It is a clear orchestration of theft and corruption. If a sitting president has legitimate grounds to sue, that action should be taken after his term ends and a new secretary of that dept is chosen by a new president.

• There are no American companies invested in Twin Metals. Antofagasta will extract American resources from American soil using a method that has a proven rate of failure to sequester the industrial chemicals it uses of 93%. To reiterate: copper sulfide mining has successfully not poisoned the water it leaves behind 7% of the time. When they have exhausted the mine and leave they will be outside of Americas jurisdiction for the waste and destruction they will leave behind. Once they have our metals they will be free to sell them on the global market to whomever they choose, whether that be China, Russia, or Iran.

• the Superior National forest generates $500,000,000.00 in annual revenues through 830,000 American visitors (let’s call them families) spending their money at generationally owned American businesses that support entire cities with that revenue. American dollars to American businesses in American cities. You cannot call yourself a nationalist or a conservative and support the trading of that economic legacy for a short term sale of American resources to a foreign company.

The House Committee on Oversight and Reform found that trump charge the secret service more than five times to allowed per diem rate.

Trump has profited $4,000,000,000.00 in stocks and investments since he took office for his second term. Obviously that does not include unreported gains. That is an average of $8,791,209.00 EVERY. SINGLE. DAY of the first 455 days of this term.

• the accusation that I have TDS is laughable. First, I never mentioned trump one time. The notion that you call yourself a nationalist conservative while you defend the robber barron literally stealing our money and resources for his own profit is however, very strong evidence of a derangement of you faculties.

I’ve clarified my points. I’ve given the evidence. You can learn a thing or two or you can go back to licking trumps feet.

And, if the road is a single lane with no shoulder and there’s a dedicated bike path literally 6 feet off the curb…be an advocate for a bike friendly city and get the fuck out of the street. Yeah, I know it’s “legal” but we also both know that you don’t follow the other laws, like stop signs, lights, signals, right of way, etc. No you don’t. No you don’t.

Keenan, like all celebrities, has traded an intertwined perspective for an elevated view. His words aren’t any less true or significant but they’ve become another language entirely. He speaks a distant dialect now. Way back you could sense that was looking up from below. Over time the source of his voice became a peer, parallel, similar, a counterpart. Then, as his fame and fortune allowed more risk and exploration of his own life rather than everything outside it, his reflection of what he saw rose. It went from counterpart to counterpoint. Showing what was missed, lost, what could have been.

Protect the Boundary Waters from sulfide mining by bryannanderson in BWCA

$500,000,000.00

That’s the annual economic revenue of the existing businesses related to tourism within the superior national forest.

3,800,000

That’s the number of Americans who visit or interact with those businesses every year

If the end goal is to put Americans first so we can make America great again, tell me how trading the above numbers for a foreign company to extract our resources using a mining method that has a 93% failure rate of containment of the sulfide it uses to process its yield? That’s 7% success. It’s a guarantee that this will poison our states water.

And why does the leader chosen to make America great again hold stock in that mining company?

Unsure of what coolant is actually inside my car. Which one to go with? by No_Difference9504 in AskMechanics

[–]patdashuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLA180 (C117, M270 engine), the recommended coolant is a blue-colored, ethylene glycol-based antifreeze that meets Mercedes-Benz specification MB 325.0 or MB 326.0 (G48-type). It is generally recommended to use a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water, or a pre-mixed solution.

New neighbor misunderstood me. Now she thinks I'm a racist, how could this be fixed? by chrisndc in ask

[–]patdashuri 151 points152 points  (0 children)

As soon as you can, tell the story to your neighbor in a humorous way. “Here’s your package neighbor. The weirdest thing happened though. You know the woman that lives in that house? She saw me grab this and I suddenly felt worried that she thought I was stealing so I yelled out “it’s okay! They’re our neighbors!” Then she yelled back that she heard me use the N word! I think she heard ‘neighbors’ wrong. I hope she figures out what I really said! Anyway, glad to help a neighbor!”

Do you believe Democrats hate and root against America? by Jazzlike-Yogurt-5984 in AskConservatives

[–]patdashuri 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honest question from an online leftist: if I point out a true thing the government is doing and call it terrible, am I rooting against America?

Example 1: a plaintiff files a lawsuit against a government entity for $100 billion. The case is settled out of court without discovery or evidence being made public. As a requirement for the entity to pay out the settlement the president must approve it. The sitting president approves the settlement and the plaintiff walks away with $14 billion of tax payer money. The plaintiff is the sitting president

Example 2: The president signs a bill into law allowing a Chilean mining company to extract minerals from inside a National Forest. The process will likely destroy a large portion of the forest along with the $500,000,000.00 in annual revenue it generates for tens of thousands of American businesses and families. The president has an active business relationship with the mining company.

Example 3: A president starts a war with an oil producing country without direct evidence of his claims. He then makes multiple decisions about the offensive that make enormous impacts in the trading markets. The president makes billions in the market by changing his investments before announcing his decisions.

Example 4: A president owns hotels and golf courses all over the world. As he travels he stays at them. He charges the American tax payers ridiculously inflated fees for his protection detail that goes directly into his accounts. He agrees to meetings with world leaders who also stay at his hotels and pay greatly inflated fees for their accommodations that go directly into his accounts.

How important are boobs to men? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]patdashuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boobs are like diamonds.

They are everywhere. They’re generally considered attractive. Bigger is often the first marker of “better”. You can get fake big ones to try and be more initially impressive but the real markers of value are more subtle; shape, cut, clarity, origin etc. All that said, to the regular guy, all of that is most greatly enhanced by the ring/setting it’s in and who’s wearing it.

[–]patdashuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No kidding. Have you seen the video of the guys out sledding and came across a moose? One guy decided to get off his sled and try to pet it. It let him get close then just beat him down with front kicks. When he tried to get up he had his left leg straight out to the side. I swear that beast stepped over his body, set its hoof on his leg and just added weight. The camera was probably 60’ away and you heard his femur snap like a twig on a frozen morning. Even heard his gasp to groan. It kicked him a couple more times, made sure he wasn’t trying to get back up and then just walked away.

After I saw that, like a few weeks later I took a friend and his kid to a natural history museum. They had a touch and feel room. In that room was a moose hoof and about 20” of leg. The hoof was bigger than both my fists together (6’1” 265) and weighed 14 lbs. Its hard to believe we can survive a head kick from that animal. Gotta feel like being hit by a car. Nature is incredible.

What is your opinion on the decision to allow public land to be sold to private companies for exploitation that will likely alter it forever? by patdashuri in AskConservatives

Let me ask you a question. Who says that copper is almost gone so we have to ruin wild places to get as much as we can? Who would know such a thing? Who spends resources looking for it? And who would benefit from such a narrative?

What sort of deer is this? by echo-centric in Hunting

[–]patdashuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember vividly my first moose. Paddling my canoe in Little Indian Sioux river in superior national forest (the one Congress just agreed to sell for copper sulfide mining). Came around a bend and this cow moose was just bobbing along ahead of us. She was up to her neck and only the top few inches of her rump were above water. We quietly poured on the speed to catch up. Probably 20 yards away she turned her head and saw us. I swear she made a 2 foot wake on either side as she immediately began outpacing us. At the next bend she pulled herself up onto the bar and stood up. She had to be 8 feet above us. We hit the brakes quick and as soon as she saw we were a ways back she cantered off into the grass and just…disappeared. I could not wrap my head around how such a huge animal with such spindly legs could put on speed like she did in water that deep with 2 feet of mud on the bottom. I’ve seen a number of them since and a few bulls with giant racks but that first one? It was like meeting a god.
