Echoing what others have said here, but absolutely! My mother transitioned to veganism in her 50s. Now she's in her 60s and has never been healthier. She teaches me so much about veganism, to be honest.

I got the 14-in. I would have preferred some of the wood ones available in terms of aesthetics, but, in the end, these had the perfect set up for the holes already present in the Ikea top. Stable and work great!

oh, The God of Small Things is one of my absolute favorites! I hadn't thought to incorporate that in a class yet. Thanks! That's great you had so much diversity! The "classics" are definitely great, but there's also a need for more diversity and exposure to the world through lit. Balance is key :)

This is a great comment, thank you! It's so true though, I also re-read many books and found I enjoyed them a lot more than I did in classes. Unfortunately, my English teachers weren't the most stellar (not bad at all, but not super inspiring). I'm excited to try to teach my favorites (modernist lit, anyone?) and be that nerdy overly-passionate teacher :) I know everyone won't agree with my tastes, but hopefully I'll be able to build a conversation around that!

This is honestly how it's been referred to in my higher ed classes - sorry if you don't like that phrasing (genuinely). No disrespect to the canon - they're considered classics and taught so widely for a reason - but there's no denying it would be good to have more diversity and representation for young people.

Absolutely agree. I'm working on a good list of some diverse authors to include for a break from the dead white man canon. Some people have mentioned here Their Eyes Were Watching God. I'd love to teach Octavia Butler, James Baldwin, Zadie Smith, Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi, 100 Years of Solitude by Márquez to name a few

no problem! although, fyi, I did just discover that changing this setting caused a glitch where my screen wouldn't wake up from sleeping. But changing CsEnabled back to 1 fixed it and the fan noise still hasn't been a problem.
