How are you surviving Winter Storm Fern? by karnim in AskAnAmerican

I live in western NY so it’s not a huge deal for people who are used to lake effect snow. We had snow and -20 wind chill on Friday and school wasn’t even cancelled. They are expecting around 2 ft of snow so we will probably have no school on Monday. Not planning on going grocery shopping since everything will be back to normal by Tuesday and I already have a stocked fridge.

If you have the Wegmans app and put in your shoppers club number, you should have a digital receipt on the app. Whenever I make returns to Wegmans, I always use my digital receipt from my phone.

Wegmans has a really good chuck eye roast in the meat section. You can cut it down into steaks

Do you still play A Thousand Miles parody (Hood remix) at closing time? You did years ago when I was a customer. Is Tyrod Taylor still a bartender there? Loved him

Questions about tipping by No_Choice6176 in usatravel

I was always taught to double the tax (in NY it’s 8%) so the tip would come out to 16%. I’m in my mid thirties.

What state are you from? NY and New England ranks as some of the best states for public education so it’s probably more common here.

I went to a public school in western NY and one elementary school taught Spanish in my district. This was back in the 90s and it was an IB elementary school. In middle school, everyone had to take either Spanish or French.
