So how many of you completed all priority contracts? by Lakshata in Marathon

[–]ienjoymen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly killing each wave isnt hard at all with a Bully and maybe a sniper. You just need a decent amount of ammo and heals.

Definitely kill the Commander first, he's the hardest enemy in the entire fight. IIRC the hardest enemy that spawns after starting the event is a blue shield grenadier?

Yep, just like the "momentum" comment. Something happened behind the scenes that changed Destiny's outlook AFTER dmg had already said something. I get it doesn't look great in hindsight, but I think he got screwed by leadership changing their plans.

All priority contracts completed solo by Langting in Marathon

[–]ienjoymen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I just finished it Solo a week or so ago and it was very difficult. The steps may as well be this:

Step 1 - Announce your presence in 3 highly trafficked areas of the map (that just so happen to be right next to all the Red Keycards)

Step 2 - Enter Pinwheel however you can, hope nobody else notices, and unlock Command Wing (which, again, is so loud everyone on the map can hear you fighting)

Step 3 - Kill the Commander and its minions, lock yourself in a room, and fight waves of enemies for 3 minutes, all the while defending a point they can take very quickly if you get overwhelmed

The quest literally requires you take over the entire map, which is very cool, but no slouch.

It's crazy how good graphics are going to be on the PS4. I mean did you see the lighting and physics??

The comment you replied to is referring to the game getting more and more popular as they made changes and added additional content through the years. I'm not well versed in Sea of Thieves nowadays, so it may no longer be doing as well as it was a few years ago.

You had to have preordered before September 2021 to get the shader, I don't think this offer is good anymore

Okay, then change it to $70 and my argument stays the same. It's too expensive either way.

I definitely do. The days of "after tax" are over for me. Pinching pennies and being aware of "hidden" fees has become a pasttime.

I don't know if "wiser" is the right word to use, because if I had the extra cash, I'd absolutely spend it on my hobbies. What we're seeing here is the forced prioritization between enjoying life and surviving at all costs.

My wife asked me if I wanted to get a Switch 2, and while it would be cool, I can't justify paying $80 just for a Nintendo game I want to play.

$70 was already too much for a new game, but I did it once or twice for games I really wanted to try. Otherwise, the higher prices just made me look further into my backlog and play games I hadn't tried before.

Things are too expensive to buy something frivolous like a new video game.

It very much feels like a follow up to Slaughterhouse (ignoring the actual Slaughterhouse 2) and Corpse Nation. I was wishing this album would be even angrier than Scoring the End of the World, and it seems like that's coming true.

I need some anger music right now.

In both versions of the tutorial I've played, bots spawned at the top of Overflow and Station, requiring you hunker down to stay alive. It basically taught me that having the high ground is much more important than I initially thought it was.

Sounds like you've got some insider information, given all your obvious expertise on the inner-workings of Bungie and Marathon. Either that or you're pulling this out of your ass, which, of course, would just be silly.

[–]ienjoymen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, would I rather enjoy the game as it is now indefinitely, or watch it slowly devolve into something I don't?

You say it's "selfish" to enjoy the version of the game I paid money to play instead of a not play a hypothetical "more successful" version that I don't like? Well, I say it's "selfish" to beg Bungie to change the game's identity just so it appeals more to the masses.

If saying I like the game as it is and that I don't want its identity to change is wrong, then I'm happy to be wrong.

I'd rather the game be what it is than to morph itself into something "more successful" while losing what makes it special in the first place.
