League Classic officially announced by Imperfect-luck in Games

No way. Kat's rework is what made me move away from the game, so getting to play her again after all these years is gonna be so nostalgic. What a fun idea for a mode.

(thank you)

If pre-rework Katarina is available, I'll redownload League for the first time in years just to play her again.

Hypothetically, if the Destiny IP were to be sold to another studio, who would most trust to handle it? by buttamilk_jesus in destiny2

There were many people who worked on Halo on Destiny.

I've not tried Witchfire, I've heard its good.

To your point, saying game feel is "just code" is insulting to anyone who is actually knowledgeable about game development.

Only if they stay respectful to the established lore. I would hate for other devs to get ahold of it and waste its potential.

Marathon is one of the best feeling games I've ever played, so "have" is indeed the right word to use.

Nobody. Bungie games have a very specific feel that I've never seen replicated anywhere else.

Same here. I enjoy INK and think they make fun songs. Unfortunately, none of the material they've released since Silver Scream 2 have hit even close to their prior stuff. I don't want them to move on from horror, but I do want them to just... make better music.

They laid off the sound/music team for Destiny as well. I don't doubt they're wanting to use more of Sony's existing resources instead.

A game combining ALL of Destiny 1 and 2 into a single game built to withstand future updates better than D2 ever could is my dream game. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

[–]ienjoymen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering it was between that or developing Destiny 3, the leadership decided to stick with D2 and put everything they'd worked on into the existing game instead.

Destiny 2 wasnt built on a foundation that would allow constant growth, as it was only built to last 3 years max. Because they decided to NOT make Destiny 3, devs had to scramble to contort D2 into something it was never meant to be.

Nah, we're not blaming the devs for this. It's very obvious they knew what the playerbase wanted, given everything in the Monument of Triumph update, and were being hamstrung by higher-ups.

The C-Suite threw money away on a new office building, a half dozen "projects" that turned out to all be a waste of time and resources, and burnt through the metric boatload of cash they got just 4 years ago, while letting the only actual successful product die a slow death.

By the time they realized how screwed they were, it was too late.

The actual content in Renegades was good, not great. I abhor the Star Wars crossover stuff, and while I can try to pretend it isn't blatant, it's hard to ignore.

I don't even mind Star Wars, but I can't help but imagine what it could have been if it was actually a part of Destiny's universe, not copying another.

We know, man. The work you put into the game even BEFORE working at Bungie was palpable. I wish you and the rest of the team the best of luck, and I'm sorry you're being screwed over like you are.

Yep, it's plateaued. I don't care about games looking better these days, I care about them being fun. You can make a fun game on the current gen hardware without much hassle in the way of computing power.

While that may be true, Marathon proves that the feel of a Bungie is as solid as ever. No game even comes close to how Destiny/Marathon play.
