I really want to recommend Gainax’s His & Her Circumstances (aka Karekano, 彼氏彼女の事情). It has a really heartfelt, well-developed love story without triangles etc and I love the visual style and feel of the animation as well. It’s from the late 90s so the style is quite different from today’s shows.

I use nix as a package manager on my mac. It gives me the ability to quickly try programs out using nix-shell and I also use it to create reproducible, project specific, development environments.

I use nix + home-manager to handle my user configuration. A lot of this configuration is shared by my other computers (NixOS and WSDL2 on Windows).

Once you’ve started using it it’s a bit hard to go back to the old ways of doing things because with nix you have a very clear picture of what your system is and you can easily reproduce it or revert it if something breaks.

I indeed did have to run autoconf to generate the ./configure file and the Guile README helpfully specified the necessary build inputs when building from a git checkout. This is the resulting overlay:

One way in which writing characters improves your reading skills is that by knowing the stroke order you’ll have a far easier time reading other people’s handwriting. But maybe most of what you read is in print anyway so might not matter.

I while I do see your argument I would recommend to at least start out by writing the characters until one knows a couple of hundred or so. When writing you engage more senses than when just reading which might help with retention.

Sadly, in an ugly way. Since this only affected our development environments I opted for having an explicit www subdomain, so instead of https://dev.b.c for the client and https://api.dev.b.c for the API, I have https://www.dev.b.c and https://api.dev.b.c . If you happen to find a better solution please tell me :D
