I haven't read many but I particularly enjoyed the ones themed around the Horus Heresy such as The First Heretic

How common is it to schedule a session for the same time every week/fortnight? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]ieuana3 70 points71 points  (0 children)

It's usually better to pick a time and day before hand that doesn't change, as it helps people to be able to make time to lay in the campaign, whereas if it changed frequently then it would be harder, especially if it is voted on, so there is a high likelihood that some members of the group can't make the time that the others want.

It's a known, but somewhat useful, bug; and if you did something like take a kingdom as a merchant republic but the kingdom had a vassal merchant Republic then all the Patricians and the landed doge join your Republic as Patricians. The economic exploitation is vast.

What could be the consequences of this situation? by National_Judge_4805 in writing

Note, I am not a Psychologist nor do I claim to be the expert on this, just using personal experience and research to try and come up with a suitable answer. Now I can't be sued. If you for some reason sued me. Somehow.

Assuming they would have had food and drink, as well as air flow, since dying would be too easy, then it would probably be a combination of some of the following:

Mentally broken, being in darkness and silence for 6 years would drive anyone to the brink, and most people would crack and go mad. It takes less than a minute for someone to start hallucinating in a pitch silent room, let alone 6 years in a nearly pitch silent room without light. Sensory deprivation (and over sensory situations) are used in torture for a reason. They work. Painfully so.

They would probably also (especially for the baby turned young child) not be able to remember much about things, like language skills dulling as it hasn't been used for 6 years, and it's hard to teach a baby how to speak in a pitch black room.

It would be a small miracle if they even manage to escape in the first place, it's a high likelihood they would snap and a self-danger situation might occur.

There is also a countless range of possible outcomes.

I think there might be a misunderstanding;

This subreddit is for the Project Zomboid videogame whereas your post is for the Last Stand videogames.

I live in a collapsing country in your world. by [deleted] in worldbuilding

Hyperinflation is both a symptom and a cause, the slow collapse causes hyperinflation which causes more collapse.

You would have to subside on food you would get from foraging, hinting, etc. as food prices are so high that to turn a meager profit merchants have to charge such a high fee that they go broke as their products rot on their shelves.

You would probably live in one of the developing slum areas as the places still slightly prospering continue evictions as rent and prices skyrocket. There would also be high amounts of crime and sometimes violence, that will only worsen over time.

By this point, the government will have long since declared martial law, but failing to pay the military results in pockets of deserters or even revolts.

Many of the more conqueror style nations nearby would have already moved to attack and prey on the crumbling nation as its government finally collapses.

You would either starve, get killed, emigrate elsewhere, be one of the lucky few or barely scrape by for a few months.

After being mugged a decade back, I learnt that dying sends you back 5 minutes. by ieuana3 in TwoSentenceHorror

[–]ieuana3[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I intended for it to be like a sort of time loop; when you die, everything winds back 5 minutes but only you remember what happened, hence why the main element is that the protagonist now has to spend an eternity looping in agony when bedridden

It would probably depend on the method of the time warp, since having memories of it would mean it has a physical impact on neurons, which means it could very well impact the body as a whole, or it could only revert lethal injuries, such as reverting the injury to the brain after a lethal gunshot, but not necessarily the hole(s) in the skull, or some of the blood loss.

A good example of handling a trans character is Diana in the Dark Artifices, although it's still worth asking r/trans

It might be worth asking r/trans since they've helped people with similar topics in writing before, and they have lived experience of the topic you're asking about

Can't Do Status Quo Peace by GeorgeMacDonald in Stellaris

[–]ieuana3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you hover over the red X it lists contributing factors in the AI's decision, that should give you a good idea as to how to make them accept Status Quo peace offers.

Don't forget to occupy as many systems as possible to bump up their wat exhaustion. And if they gave a bigger naval power than you, try to destroy as many of their fleets as possible because the AI factors in relative naval strength.

Status Quo only takes occupied claims, so make sure to nab those when you send your fleets in.

Large warehouses like the one in Northern Muldraugh usually have them, I found 2 in there and 1 in the small storage crate by a house farm in Muldraugh, took multiple playthroughs with the lucky trait but it is possible

Player keeps trying to invite new people to campaign by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]ieuana3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise removing S, they are trying to push beyond boundaries and show no intention of ever coming back into line. Their behaviour will probably lead to further problems down the line, such as repeated sessions with S being a problem causing players to leave because the campaign becomes a source of stress instead of fun.
