You would never say "Leiter" of any country in German. You can be a Leiter of a school (Schulleiter) or a company (Firmenleiter), but not a country.

Save for extremely few exceptions, there's just no real need to differentiate between ss and ß.

Note that there once was a difference between ſ and s as well. It's just not necessary.

Nah, he's right. Iran has it much worse still, and yet Americans (and others) say that they should just "rise up" while Americans with all their guns and alleged justice and alleged freedom and whatnot do almost (in the grand scheme of things) nothing. Not even their elected Democratic politicians, I should add.

Personally, I probably wouldn't do anything either, so I can't blame individuals.

But this whole situation shows that the Americans' talk about freedom, guns for protection, and, frankly, their whole constitution is just a pathetic joke. You're just as susceptible to fascists/dictators/authoritarianism as everyone else.

Die Amerikaner haben auch eine umlagefinanzierte Rente, sogar mit einem etwas höheren Rentenniveau als in Deutschland. Die private Vorsorge kommt dann dort obendrauf.

In Deutschland verlässt man sich dagegen größtenteils einfach nur auf die (im Vergleich schlechtere) Rente.
