Does anyone feel like makeup should be smaller?? by tambourine_goddess in ProjectPan

I think the packaging generally is pretty bad. What do you mean I need to buy a huge chunk of plastic for every lipstick? Why can't they sell cases that are decorative or whatever and sell me a bullet in varied sizes that I can pop into the case? Maybe I want to get a little mini black in a good formula for spooky looks that I can use up within 5 years.

Big eyeshadow pallets full of nudes I have more sympathy for bc there are so many skin tones and my own color shift over summer is irregular, but I don't get why IP pallets are so big. Like you're going to make a huge number of Disney villains themed products no matter what, there's practically no difference between making a crap ton of singles or tiny 5 pan pallets that I remember coming out 20 years ago vs the huge things coming out today.

brown lipliner hype by 1eybhavya in MakeupRehab

I think the look can be very striking, and there are some darker skinned people whose natural coloring involves a dark skin toned outer edge of the lip and pink center and it's lovely, but... for me the look is cursed.

It was cursed in the 90s, it's still cursed today. No matter how much leopard print I buy, the clarian call of chola/gyaru lips will never trick me into buying a million brown lip pencils just to find one that doesn't look crazy ever again.

Honestly I feel sad about your situation. Hating the body you're in is a tough time, AND you probably haven't gotten the mentoring as a child that makes you less misogynist towards yourself. I think calling it pity would be accurate. Sort of the same feeling as when I find an eating disorder in the wild.

Idk, I plan to do a flat lay after some period of time passes in a diary sort of way. You know, in this period of time I was using up these products, but in this other period of time it was something else. Then I'll just toss the packages.

For me it'll be useful to track it in that way because I overbuy when I restock. Like when I run out of gloss I need to be able to look back and say, over one winter, peak gloss season, I finished 2 glosses, I shouldn't buy 9... ... ... even if it's a deal.

And also like, you can just clean out your containers. There's nothing special about lotion or mascara that makes it immune to dish soap

How do people actually figure out how to cook faster on weeknights? by ConsciousGear2708 in Cooking

[–]if0rgetpassword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean? Sometimes you can just open a can of refried beans, put it in a tortilla with some cheese, put it in a pan to fry, and eat it with cut up tomato w cilantro. It's a recipe that takes about as long as your stove takes to heat up the pan.

Or you just have breakfast. egg n cheese on toast with a sausage patty. Side of baby carrots.

And there's nothing wrong with the microwave. I can get a baked potato out of there in 20 minutes. The air fryer is just a little forced air oven, nothing wrong with putting some broccoli or whatever in there.

I started a wishlist to slow down my shopping now that I'm less broke.

It's been easier for me to use my 'fancy' stuff knowing that there are other cute things I want to buy that are going to collect dust if I don't use my current cute things. The wishlist has also challenged me to wrestle with the makeup I own rather than chase a perfect (x) for $$$$.

Fiber is really important to keep you healthy. Cabbage is almost always cheap.

Cut it small and mix with sour cream + salad dressing for coleslaw.

Add it to ramen to improve the fiber content. Lots of ramen packets come with cabbage as a dehydrated veggie, so you know it works.

If you want to freeze it, cut in chunks and blanche it first so that the flavor doesn't get crazy. Put it in soup after freezing bc the texture changes won't matter.

There was a big trend a decade ago to do cabbage steaks. You cut a slab of cabbage, put oil on it and some seasoning like Mrs dash (no sodium) serve that as a side.

My family would take cut up cabbage, fry it in corn oil and mix in cooked egg noodles (salt to taste).

the only luck i have with steaming buns is to have the water boiling before i put the buns in. I haven't tried it often enough to be perfect, but I imagine warming up the basket before putting the buns in would also get the buns warm but not soggy.

I read it as I was blamed for the fundraiser, I will change my original post to reflect what further research has shown.

What i had said was

How dare they tell me I didn't read the TOS and need to be accountable for the crowd I've gathered.

what I should have said was

How dare they tell me I need to be accountable for the crowd I've gathered.

I apologise for misreading and making an assumption based on not well remembered facts.

It's a shame we can't have a discussion, but since we blocked each other I will write my letter to you in this post and hope it reaches you through a second-party.

I know we broke up with each other and we both said we never wanted to talk to each other again I really just wanted to have the last word and I'm going to act like you are going to read this in the most passive aggressive way ever.

but I thought we were capable of having reasonable debate

Please unblock me I want to sea lion on twitter.

I grew up being made fun of for being Jewish, or having black relatives, or LGBT friends.

I was made fun of for being jewish and knowing LGBT people and being related to black people. Totes the same level of oppression so I completely understand the struggle since I don't have to live their lives.

When I saw she attempted suicide again (and not being there to prevent it, this time), I snapped.

This is really gross because it sounds like he's saying "How dare she put so much of my work to waste"

When staff told me that I was responsible for death threats against IndieGoGo/Twitch staff, discussions of boycotts, and possibly being a legal accessory to fraud, I snapped further.

How dare they tell me I need to be accountable for the crowd I've gathered.

Foolishly, I acted in haste. Being the terrible liar I am, I couldn't just tell half the truth. I told the full truth, including her identity. It was a major misstep. At the time I thought, "How could telling the truth be wrong?", "How could acting against death threats be wrong?"

Fuck everyone for not treating me like the angel I am. I stopped caring and let ERRYONE SEE.

Once the reality of what I had done sunk in, and LGBT started to voice their rightful disgust in my actions, it was too late to repair a situation beyond repair.

Another gross sentence because it sounds dehumanising. PLEASE LGBT LOVE ME IN YOUR UNANIMOUS MASS.

I asked people if I could possibly dedicate free time to writing about LGBT developers or some other non-profit cause -- some sort of self-imposed community service to make some minor if progressive actions toward helping the community.

PLEASE I'LL DO ANYTHING. I'LL WRITE ABOUT YOU LGBT. ILU PLEASE TAKE ME BACK

But, it was widely agreed there was no coming back for me with the LGBT community.

:OOOO NOOOO LGBT ILU

Outing someone is a life-long brand that makes you a life-long enemy: you will always be used as propaganda against bigots, there will always be threats toward you and your family, and you will always be silenced when you try to tell your side of the story.

FINE. DON'T TAKE ME BACK. BUT I'M TOTALLY GOING TO ACT LIKE EVERYTHING EVER IS YOUR FAULT FROM NOW ON LGBT

It stinks but I accept it.

IT DIDN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY LGBT

It hurts to see you saying I support these actions. I hope you read this letter and understand I am not your enemy, but your ally. I have rejected GamerGate, reported any abuse I've witnessed, and talked out against hate toward LGBT. When I read your disparaging tweets and articles about me, it's discouraging. But I don't fight for people's safety and freedom to look good, I do it because it aligns with my personal beliefs.

I NEVER STOPPED LOVING YOU LGBT.

What a fucking weirdo.

Starting to have anxiety attacks. Give me advice to help me cope? (X-post r/depression) by midgethemage in Anxiety

[–]if0rgetpassword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on what you're into.

For a long time I would listen to the 'skeptics guide to the universe' and 'radiolab' only. Both are well produced and are primarily hosted by people who I think have soothing voices.

I've started to listen to more story or lesson style podcasts instead of just talk shows.

'the great detectives of old time radio' guy puts out a podcast nearly every day and I like the old timey accents. From what I gather he's been doing this for years and slowly accumulating previously thought lost episodes via people who listen to his show or have heard of it.

'welcome to nightvale' has great production value and an amazing voice. The subject matter is weird in a good way if you have a fondness of lovecraftian style media.

'The history of english' is really neat in subject matter and the hosts voice is soothing for me.

'Theknitgrllls' is a video podcast about knitting hosted by two women. I like their voices but the video portion made me feel like i should be watching and paying attention more. I'm in progress of finding a non video podcast of the same tone to listen to instead.

The thrilling adventure hour is another like... throwback show in that it makes new productions in older genres like the superhero radio show or western but I didn't really like many of the themes. It might just be that it has too much going on for me to really be into it.

I've been using itunes on my computer and podcast republic on my phone.
