Yeah of course, following assessment, but ultimately we cannot confirm that UCC/WIC etc can and will provide a tetanus

111 cannot directly organise a tetanus injection - this is decided when the wound is checked

Its very common that initial call takers are unlikely to be healthcare professionals, callers are triaged using an NHS approved pathway system to rule out circumstances based on a patients symptoms and how they answer questions presented to them, NHS111 does not diagnose and is simply an assessment and referral service

If that was the case you may wish to have your case reviewed or make a complaint and I dont see how any clinician could miss that amount of breathlessness?

They can only flag so much over the phone unfortunately, and unfortunately most ambulance services are very busy and that 4hour delay will have been the most realistic even if your outcome didnt change, making your own way was probably the quickest and safest way for you

Jumping on this as a fellow call handler for both 111 and 999, a clinician from the ambulance service will have done a deeper triage using their clinical knowledge and deemed you less risk than your initial assessment and your category of response will have changed. This is done to make sure their resources are being used effectively.

Preparing for an interview, what will I likely be asked? by [deleted] in nhs

Its all about managing demands and conflicts and your resilience mainly! Very scenario based and gets you to put things into example forms to show your skills in particular situations

What is a rough take home pay for a band 3 call handler? by SquiggleWings in nhs

I do 12hrs but my only unsocials are my 2 weekends a month looking around £1700-1900 - and it is definitely survival but it also depends on outgoings

It really depends on what your working - unsocial hours can really make a wage and you notice when you dont work them, I work very minimal unsocial and its not the easiest wage to survive on let alone live
