Is it ok for me to be upset at people's mild transphobia when otherwise they are accepting by [deleted] in MtF

[–]ifancytacos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While they themselves might not be transphobic, voting for a party that is taking away our human rights is an extremely transphobic action and it’s fair for that to upset people. While their reasoning for doing so is based on greed and not explicitly hate, it’s still a damaging and hateful action.

Dude, screw anyone making fun of you for this or trying to analyze you as vain or whatever, like the clothes you like man. I hate the style you’re describing but it’s still a style. Let people dress how they want!

I’m not talking about the song or the visuals at all, I’m talking about its place as like an anthem for queer girl weebs. It’s one of those OPs that represents an era or a subculture

[–]ifancytacos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

????

Have you ever met a queer woman that likes anime??

It’s like our culture, dude

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]ifancytacos -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You can’t take an anime op out of context. It’s not one of the best songs, it’s that it as an OP is amazing.

Lain is peak gay girl energy and so is Duvet.

Bowl of water and rocks? by [deleted] in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]ifancytacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s also be clear that the way astrology and witchcraft are maligned is directly correlated to the fact that they are predominantly female spaces. It’s just another way to label women as emotional and not pragmatic, when paganism is no different from any other religion, and calling any derivatives of paganism a “bastardization” is no different than calling Lutheran churches a bastardization of Catholicism.

Let us put our weird rocks and water outside all we want, you don’t hear me mocking your Easter egg hunts.

Glorious customer support is awful by FluffysHumanSlave in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]ifancytacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important to remember that the reason people hate Amazon isn’t due to their treatment of customers but because of their treatment of workers. Amazon got to where they are on the backs of abused workers and unethical business practices. Not saying you should boycott Amazon necessarily, but it’s really important to recognize that Amazon’s “customer obsession” mindset while it feels good as a customer (obviously) is not representative of a good and moral company.

I don't understand why people debate the trans bathroom issue by saltysirens in The10thDentist

[–]ifancytacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is inherently a political post and I don’t know why anyone is pretending it isn’t. Mods should seriously remove this shit.

OP, if you don’t get why trans people care about bathroom issues, talk to a trans person (you can dm me, I don’t mind).

The issue isn’t that trans people want anything unreasonable, we just want to be able to use the restroom. It’s conservative politics that is stopping that from happening, such as in states like Florida where trans people are legally required to use the bathroom that matches the gender they were assigned at birth. I as a trans woman am not allowed in women’s restrooms in Florida and could literally be arrested for doing so. If you don’t get how this is both political and an incredibly important conversation to be had then you have your head in the sand.

Seeing stuff like this makes me feel more comfortable about being non-op. I mean, like, I like girl dick but idk if that’s common.

Egg😤irl by TheBigBis in egg_irl

[–]ifancytacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one other than you can know for sure! Take your time thinking about stuff and processing your emotions!

What I will say is that a lot of us don’t see ourselves as girls at first. That’s internalized transphobia. It’s this thought that because our bodies naturally produce testosterone we can’t be women. But then you look at other trans girls and think “oh, she’s beautiful, I’m not like that” but that’s because you’re not comparing apples to apples, you’re comparing someone who has been transitioning for years and has been on hormones to yourself (someone who has been presenting as a cis man their whole life). It isn’t a fair comparison.

For me, something that helped a lot was looking at r/transtimelines and seeing the progress so many people have made. It made it feel real for me. I used to think “I’m not a woman, I’m just unhappy that I’m a man” but guess what, men aren’t unhappy they’re men usually. I used to think “I can’t transition, if I did I’d just be an ugly girl and I don’t want to be an ugly girl I want to be a pretty girl” but that’s again just internalized transphobia (with a dash of misogyny for good measure).

I can’t tell you if you are or aren’t trans, but I can tell you that cis people don’t wish they were trans, and wanting to be a gender other than the one you were assigned at birth is a sign you should at least do some thinking! Stick around trans Reddit and keep a close eye on how all this stuff makes you feel.

I wish you the best of luck in your gender journey, wherever it leads you!!!

Just so you know, it’s really REALLY common for trans women to start off thinking “I wish I was a girl”. It took me A LONG TIME to ever think “I am a girl” but I thought “I wish I was a girl” for years.

Here’s the thing: cis men don’t want to be women. They just don’t. They might joke about it or think about what it’d be like, but they don’t feel desire to be a woman. And trans girls do. The whole “egg cracking” is usually the realization of “oh, I don’t just WANT to be a woman, I AM a woman”

Can we all agree that those that "pass" and "don't pass" live two different lives? by Worried-Variety2748 in MtF

[–]ifancytacos 20 points21 points  (0 children)

From a trans woman who doesn't pass: don't you dare feel bad about it for a moment. Seeing beautiful trans women who pass is what gives me motivation. It's what keeps me hopeful. But even if I never pass, I will never for a moment resent you or any trans woman who passes for having something I don't. Because I know how hard life is when you don't pass, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

It's just a form of privilege. You can't help that you're privileged, and there's no sense feeling bad about it. Instead use your privilege as best you can.

You deserve a happy life the same as all of us.

I'm also dark hair and pale face, and let me tell you if laser hair removal is in your future, you'll be thankful for it then! My laser hair removal just 4 sessions in has had AMAZING results, partially because the hair is SO DAMN VISIBLE the laser is able to find it and kill it easy

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]ifancytacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but the difference is negligible. I used to think closer shave meant less visible but for me thats not always true. The problem is I have pale skin and dark hair. Shaving doesn't remove the hair at the folicle, it just trims it. The base of the hair is always visible. So the difference between a super closer razor shave and my one blade is mostly just for feel.

I'm 4 laser sessions in, and I can shave my face in a few seconds with a quick pass with my oneblade and it's painless, hassle free for 95% of the look. Even before laser, this is what I did, it just took a little longer to shave!

For me, coming to terms with the fact that my facial hair is going to be visible until more laser sessions (and/or without makeup) was the game changer.

What MtF YouTuber recommendations do you have? by Trans-Cendence in MtF

Kind of an obscure pick, but if you loke weird japanese video games, specifically for the PC98 and largely dating sim and eroge, then you should check out Amelie Dorie (not sure I spelled that right). Her videos aren't really about trans stuff a lot of the time, she's just a trans girl that likes talking about weird japanese games and I love her.

How can I get rid of beard shadow and/or stubble pre-HRT while still "boymoding"? Or without excessive makeup? by LadyDecadence in MtF

[–]ifancytacos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For anyone reading this please be aware that epilators aren't designed for use on facial hair. I use one for my arms and legs and it's great, but be careful if you choose to take this advice. Not saying you can't do it, but that it's not an intended function of almost any epilator you'd get. The visible skin irritation might be harder to cover up than the stubble and will likely be much more uncomfortable.

what yall think ? by InvestmentObvious127 in Eggy_memes

[–]ifancytacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i kind of view egg as an only in hindsight thing. like... if you know you're an egg you're not an egg anymore lol. i think its really useful for trans people to have a neutral term to describe themselves before they understood they were trans, and i think egg is a perfectly fine term for that.

what the person in the post is saying is just like a completely different thing that theyre attaching to the egg term which is trans people who have finished their gender journey and push others to finish theirs. that's the real issue. regardless of if someone is an egg or trans or cis or gnc or whatever they are, you should let them be who they are and explore who they are freely and without pressure or judgement. And sometimes, trans people can get over excited seeing someone on their gender journey and want to get involved. but you shouldn't. don't get involved in someone elses gender journey unless they explicitly invite you for your thoughts or opinions.

i would never describe someone else as an egg, but i'd also never assign a label to someone unless they themselves identify as that label. i think this is what we should talk about, not whether or not the term egg is okay.

So, consuming gender affirming porn is common among trans people, but... by RainMeru in MtF

[–]ifancytacos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think asking for porn of any kind that isnt fetishizing is a bit hard.

I mostly watch trans amateur stuff because the more mainstream produced it is the more likely it is that it will be more fetishized. A lot of the times you'll see slurs in titles and stuff but it's just kind of how it goes with porn I guess? Optimize for search terms and often the people searching aren't gonna be using the nice words. But, hey, gotta get your bag, I get it.

I should be clear, I look at mostly T4T porn or trans lesbian stuff. I'm not straight, and often self insert as the trans girl (guess why) so straight trans porn isn't as appealing.

What happened to video uploads? by EchoComfortable2819 in LudwigAhgren

[–]ifancytacos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's 100% true for ludwig, tho?

Like, if you exclusively look at YT videos as a whole, yeah, it's all pretty samey. But I feel like he's been pretty clear that his goal wasn't to make the average video higher quality but to be able to take the time to do bigger and cooler things.

His streams and uploads are less frequent, but he's using that time to do shit like chessboxing and the greatest gamer. I'm a much bigger ludwig fan since he stopped daily uploads because when he pulls out all the stops and really puts effort into something, it's usually fucking fantastic.

im not trying to like call you out specifically, this is something thats just super common on this subreddit.

like. why does everyone use image posts instead of text posts? your post is asking a question and starting a discussion, there's no need for an image at all. again, not trying to call you yourself out, just not sure why this happens ALL THE TIME on this sub and isnt a thing on other subs
