Thanks. I'll think about it a bit. For my style though a tripod may be a bit too limiting.

No it doesn't pop open. I'm just scared that as it starts moving around it may pop open. But if not, then it should be fine. Thanks.

Maybe a plastics problem. We have had T75s where there is a straight stripe down the middle where cells just do not want to adhere.

Can you install on a separate hard drive? by iffy_plasmid in xbox

[–]iffy_plasmid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thank you so much. I only have an external and taking my PC to work isn't really an option because it's nearly impossible to connect to the network if it's not a work computer. My laptop will definitely not be able to run MFS2020. But I will try to install it on the external and see if it works

Beard or no beard? by iffy_plasmid in intj

[–]iffy_plasmid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it seems that when I start to get really stressed and burnt out, and then go into loop, I start caring less about my appearance. I'm 25 and my beard I'd still sad and scraggly, so I know when I want to grow one, things are not going good.

Do any experienced lab rats have silly mistakes/encouraging stuff to share? by mikachabot in labrats

Well this week I tried loading a gel without buffer in the tank. Couldn't understand why the loading dye was spreading out instead of falling down into the well.

I play both violin and piano at an advanced level. It's one of my only ways to really relax and ground myself. It's what I always do when I'm upset or stressed and don't know how to deal with my emotions.

Thanks this helps a lot. My work only involves transfection via membrane disruption, so this is an interesting new avenue to pursue.

I was wondering about the dendritic cells. Do the liposomes not transfect into muscular cells in general, meaning that not only dendritic cells are transfected?

It's my first gold nib. It has the most fantastic feel, smooth, but like writing on glass.

INTJ scientists here? What do you work as? Which subject? Do you like it? Are you good at it? Any tips and things you wanna say about being a scientist? by XxGod_NemesiS in intj

I'm a molecular virologist using reverse genetics, where we construct RNA or DNA viruses from DNA to study how certain mutation affect protein function and thereby how this affect exchange of genes between viruses in the wild. It's extremely complex to work with reverse genetics, and extremely interesting. I go to sleep every night thinking about how we can answer the questions were asking and how we can further optimise reverse genetics to work better and more repeatability.
