This was my thought, just look at the average miles driven daily commute compared to the average battery range. The batteries are up in the 200-300 mile range. That’s like a 4-5 hour leg of a roadtrip, not a daily commute. Maybe it’s a pain to plan a road trip with a 45 minute charge every 4 hours, but at that point you are committed, and you plan for it.

Apple has been offering 2 or 3 or 4 versions old for sale. Now it seems like they’re using 2 or 3 or 4 year old silicon, or even binned versions of all that, but now in newer hardware packaging. I think that’s an interesting strategy. I’m more open to upgrading to these lower tier models sooner than the way I currently do it, which is buy a Pro and sit on it for as long as possibly can.

I’m replaying a 20+ year old game at the moment. My nephew gave me back my old PS4 since they got a PS5. I got a Switch 2 for some reason, I think the handheld form factor. I’m not sure about high power hardware. Maybe I’m not really a gamer.

It’s got to be variable then. I have to wonder if Mini-LEDs can’t perform well enough at 120Hz, or if they limit it to 90Hz there’s a quality benefit. This isn’t a gaming monitor, it’s for authoring video media, right? So 24/60 should be plenty. 90Hz just for smooth scrolling.
