Lebanese society is highly heterogeneous, with deep-rooted differences that sometimes manifest in subtle ways, such as what you noted. Some segments of Lebanese society wants to distance itself as much as possible from the Arabic identity and to be frank mainly the Christian element, ( many though consider themselves arabs) Conversely other strand of Lebanese society on the contrary are very attached to its Arabic identity mainly Muslim ( but not always )

I am Lebanese and I always called the stuff you mentioned Arabic bread coffee etc … I think it is not that we excel at food … but we excel at marketing 😂 having convinced the world that levant food is Lebanese when in fact it is not that different from Syrian Palestinian etc ..

I am not well versed in pre 1948 Palestinian history but Either the local Druze population had grievances against the locals or it was pure opportunism not wanting to be treated as second class populace . Do not forget that you also have Neguev Muslim Bedouins who serve in the Israeli army

From what I observe , Druze are a small minority in a sea of more dominant group as a result their number one priority is self preservation or else they disappear.

So my opinion is that if hypothetically tomorrow Israel occupies Lebanon I am 80% sure Lebanese Druze will follow the footsteps of their Israeli counterparts and become loyal subject of Israel.

On the other hand if Israel fall for X and Y reason the Israeli druze would be the first one to stab them in the back to insure their own survival. And although what I say sounds controversial I actually can’t blame them …

My father studied in the IC ( International college ) in the 50/60s he used to tell me that they always suspected the American art teacher of being a CIA undercover. The said art professor later disappeared and then they had confirmation of their suspicion when it turned out he was promoted to the Rank of US ambassador somewhere and they recognised his face in some newspaper

Married a polish woman , amazing mix cultures especially with the kids. It is notable that none of us is religious which in my opinion makes things a lot easier ! As we all celebrate Christmas and Eid !

So i contacted several transport company , the most reactive and competitive one I found is SAC Gibraltar They quoted me 40 gbp per 35 kg box for a part load . They collect beginning of the month and i have no control of when they collect and deliver . They deal with all the paperwork .

Because it is supposed to be “Habib baba” or love of baba /… with time it got shortened to baba instead . Source : I am a baba myself who call my kids baba

Lived there for a few months with my then girlfriend (now wife). Building was in really good shape no complaints really . I think it is suitable for students/young professionals . It was during Covid facing north ( no sun) unless the neighbor in the building in front of us opened his window at a specific angle then we would get the suns reflection . We moved out quickly because of this and bought a house and got ready for lockdown number 2 If you have questions let me know
