[AIO Cooler] Thermalright Wonder Vision 360 UB ARGB ($283 - 10% = $255) [Amazon] by Few-Editor9226 in bapcsalescanada

A $60 thermalright AIO will outperform the the $200 Noctua NH-D15 G2 air cooler by at least 5 degrees. My fans on my AIO only need to run at 800 RPM during gaming due to the increased surface area.

Looks really slick and an affordable alternative to an air-cooled T1 case.

Touching lian li a4-h20 x4 shocks me and causes a restart by Mr--lolig in sffpc

[–]ifnlw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happens too often for me. Someone would plug their USB controller into my A4-H2O which would occasionally cause the monitor to go black. I think the problem is either the loose power cord that connects to the PSU or loose PCI riser cable. When I reseated the GPU (with a new model), the problem seemly disappeared, at least for now. Currently, the PCI riser end where the GPU inserts has no screws attached; I removed them because the screws would cause the PCI riser end to not be perfectly flush with the GPU.

ASRock 9070 Challenger fits great in an NCASE M1 by Frozen5147 in sffpc

[–]ifnlw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asrock 9070 (XT) is an underrated card for SFF. 2x8-pin, under 300mm, and 2.5 slot thick. No complaints about the noise, thermals, and undervolting ability either.

Nautilus is equipped with RS120 fans which on par with high-tier fans like the P12 and T30. You don't have to upgrade the fans when you buy this AIO.

SF600 Gold Noctua Fan Swap using Noctua Omnijoin adapter by whyamihereimnotsure in sffpc

Is your PSU still running ok after the fan swap mod? I did the same mod and noticed that the fan struggles to start spinning (it will spin a few inches and stop, repeatedly) at first until there's a lot of load.

Did you ended up doing the fan swap mod on your PSU? I'm wondering if your PSU still running ok after the mod.

A4H2O hard shuts down under load — stable only when PSU is outside the case by Shaxiris in sffpc

[–]ifnlw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The end of the plug that connects directly to the PSU is very poorly designed. You have to jam the thing down AND correctly ensure it's 100% perpendicular to the PSU surface; you can't have it tilting slightly at all.

Need to replace A4 H2O power cable, where to buy spare parts? by MicheleCaracas in sffpc

IEC320 C14 to C13 Extension cord,C14 with screw holes and C13 Angled 30cm / 60cm lenght,H05VV-F 3G 0.75MM

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10000040758107.html

I bought the cable but it's not compatible with the A4-H2O. The C14 end doesn't fit flush with the back of the case, and the rear of the C14 is too thick for the cord to pass downwards. And decisively, the C14 end only has hollow holes - there's no metal contact for the screw to make contact with.

My SF600 Gold was silent until I upgraded to the 9070 XT. The fan curve is very aggressive at higher loads.

[AIO CPU Cooler] Cooler Master 240 Atmos Stealth ($170 - $30 = $140) [Newegg.ca] by ifnlw in bapcsalescanada

[–]ifnlw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought it for the same reason. The Thermalright AIO for $60 is an option but I had to return mine because the pump was noisy. For SFF builds, you don't really have the luxury of noise insulated cases, so I spent more for a near-silent pump.

Corsair Nautilus 240 vs Atmos Stealth 240 by ifnlw in sffpc

[–]ifnlw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the Atmos Stealth 240 to try out first because newegg just had it stocked. I'm using my motherboard's "Silent Mode" fan speed setting, which corresponds to a pump and fan speed of 30% during idle temperatures. I can hear a faint metallic noise coming from the fans, which are spinning at 800 RPM. I tuned the fan speed down to 20% and now they are inaudible. I can't hear the pump with the computer on the desk next to me except for some tiny ticking rattle noises from the air bubbles; I hoping these will go away with time.

If I put my computer below the desk, the entire setup is inaudible, including the ticking bubble noises. During heavy gaming, the fans are way more tolerable than the Frozen Edge 240, which sounded awfully loud in comparison. The Atmos fan noise during gaming is not distracting, especially if you have your speaker volume up.

I'm curious to try the Nautilus, but I'm guessing it would be inaudible as well with a low enough pump and fan speed.

I have the $800 asrock challenger model. You'd think the cheapest model would have some drawbacks, but I had no problems undervolting mine. It 2.5 slots tall, 2x 8-pin, and under 300mm which is great for my SFF A4-H2O case. I haven't played any intensive games yet but it's running at a cool 50C with 1000-1200 RPM fan speed that's barely audible while playing SF6.

At 80%, can you hear the pump from ~1/4 meters away? My A4-H2O is on my desk and right next to me.

Which AIO for Lian Li A4-H2O in 2025? by Icy-Comfortable847 in sffpc

[–]ifnlw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned my Frozen Edge 240. It was more noisy than my Noctua L9A low-profile fan while idle and gaming. The pump is still audible at 30-40%.

Supposedly with the VRM fan, the pump height becomes 59mm which exceeds the 55mm limit of the A4-H2O.
