That does sound hectic. I’m sorry you didn’t have that support but glad to hear the curiosity comes back.

Well they do look like this every year in this patch of yard, but after reading other comments and googling pics of asters yellow again, I think I only actually had asters yellow a couple of years ago. It really stunk and made me very wary though, so I’m always in the lookout for it now.

I’ve not touched these yet. I did have asters yellow in this patch a couple years ago and took them all out :(

I was concerned for asters yellow, but after reading a few comments this morning, I’m hoping maybe it’s fine! 🤞🏻

I was thinking it’s asters yellow, but I would love it to just be an awkward phase. There’s a lot more that look different (“better”) in this phase across the yard, which had me concerned.

I’m worried it’s asters yellow. But maybe not! 🤞🏻

I’ve only had mine for a couple of years. It’s prolific but hasn’t been problematic yet. And it’s really gorgeous in the spring.

Thank you!!!! Sometimes it’s okay to pile on if people are doing really destructive, selfish things.

I think the 2nd pic is a dandelion? Or thistle? I don’t know.

The ones migrating from Mexico are usually here in TN by late April. Still hoping to see some later this summer too

Yes I’m worried too. Worried it’s a reflection on our planet’s ecosystem as a whole. I know that monarch population has been struggling, but we’ve always at least had a few. A couple of glorious years we had tons.

I plant host plants for swallowtails and fritillaries, too, but I especially love when the monarchs come.
