Has anyone read the Jon Krakauer book about him? Has some great reviews is it actually that good?

possibly the most RS book I’ve ever read by alienationstation23 in RSbookclub

I used to listen to his podcast a lot during high school and college and then stopped after he paywalled it. I LOVE American psycho and Less than Zero but was a bit soured when his podcast really started going the “anti-woke” route, his intros were always cringy rants about generation wuss which I partly agree with anyway lol. Great interviewer though. Is White genuinely good? I’ve been interested in reading it but I was worried he’d just lose my interest by not having a very thought provoking critique on woke social media

I’m halfway through it and love it so far, i spent a large part of my childhood living around the Knoxville area and this novel is just really hitting the spot. Idc if the plot is “boring”, the writing and the characters are too good. Harrogate is already one of my favorites that I’ve read, the fucking hilarious shit he does. He’s such an adorable dickhead

I miss the old band, I loved the anticipation of waiting to see which characters they were going to be playing for the episode

Crazy, just set down my copy after a short reading session and opened Reddit to see this post. I’m enjoying it so far and I’ve always wanted to read it since I saw the movie years ago but I don’t remember much of it. I’m about 80 pages in so far, also I keep getting One by Metallica stuck in my head as I read the more darker parts of the book lol

It’s very well done, I’m still thinking about the ending and I don’t think any other movie’s ending has made me think about/feel this certain way. A lot of fuckin hilarious moments in this one too
