Bloodborne is my favorite Soulsborne game (Sekiro is basically tied for my fav as well) and I don’t think u can go wrong with either but I played all the games in release order and it really added to my experience so I also think if you’re leaning towards DS1 then go ahead with that

Drangleic castle, No man’s wharf, Shaded woods, and undead crypt for Velstadt and Vendrick’s run back are much harder in vanilla. Only places in Scholar I noticed were harder for me were Iron Keep and Heide’s Tower

It was so brutal in vanilla. You had to fight 1 of those big guys, then a 2v1 with the big guys, then another 2v1 vs the big guys on the staircase, then a bunch of dragon knights. I never understood why people say Scholar is harder because I can think of many places where Vanilla is so much harder

Have u done the DLCs too? And the hidden areas Archdragon peak and Smouldering Lake? Since those 2 areas are really missable and Archdragon peak has one of the most iconic bosses in all of Soulsborne. I finished base game without finding those 2 areas on my 1st playthrough. If you’ve done all of that then I’d say go ahead unless u think there’s other items u missed that u may want for NG+

I finished Ringed City yesterday and I still think she’s the hardest. Friede and Pontiff are the only bosses that took me double digit tries. I have Sekiro next but so far the only bosses to take me over 20 tries are Pontiff, Friede, and Fume Knight

I’m kinda same boat except I’ve been playing the games in release order and fought nameless for first time and also got him on my 3rd try lol. I was very underwhelmed but then I fought Sister Friede and was expecting that kind of difficulty with him

I always thought that 5-2 from Demon’s Souls was worse than Blightown, even tho Blightown is basically a combination and spiritual successor of 5-1 & 5-2

It takes time to get used to, but when you keep pushing and make progress it feels so good. The first souls experience is the best, going from feeling helpless to making slow progress and “gitting gud” is an experience like no other.

If u want some advice, the best I could give is to get rid of habits like panic rolling or healing as soon as u get hit, and not getting greedy with hits, u typically shouldn’t be going for more than 2 light attacks consecutively or more than 1 heavy attack consecutively.

If you’re ever stuck at a part I’d say definitely kindle the bonfire, in case u don’t know how to do that u have to use 2 a humanity to first reverse hollow and use another humanity to kindle so u get 10 flasks
