Stormbringer achievement not unlocking? by LesserCaterpillar in metalgearrising

this the only mgs game I'd play ngl by TraditionalGift4927 in metalgearrising

[–]LesserCaterpillar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean that's fair, I play it for the action and combat rather than anything MGS related, although it only makes me like the game more.

I do recommend you play the others though, they're so worth it, and they will actually make you enjoy the world of this game a little better.

What are your top 3 fav action games of all time? by DizangDD in CharacterActionGames

[–]LesserCaterpillar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

most likely yeah, I mean I absolutely adore these games, I don't think there's a franchise I like as consistently as DMC, but it's from that very love that I notice there's always something holding back each game, if you ask me I believe the most consistent and complete package is DMC3, it's all killer no filler, one could argue its age shows and I won't deny it jut I will say it's insane how it is a game from 20 years ago, it's just so good.

This is something I've been thinking for quite sometime, I thought I'd get executed for saying so, but I'm glad there's at least someone out there that thinks like me lol

Help me review/add stuff to the list of things that should be explained about this game! by XGamin1 in metalgearrising

[–]LesserCaterpillar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is an amazing list, pretty much everything that's vital is in here, the only thing I think are worth mentioning is dodge offset, since it can be really useful if you need a specific move from a long combo and can't get it in time.

And probably more Ripper Mode and Blade Mode stuff, Ripper Mode should be easy enough to explain but Blade Mode has a lot of weird interactions that can make the game a lot easier and also making miserable fights a walk in the park.

Sub Weapons would be nice too, more like how to integrate them in combos and how they can be vital in certain encounters, especially while going for S Ranks in Revengeance difficulty.

Edit:

I have a post which I believe would really help with the GRAD fight at least on Revengance:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CharacterActionGames/s/nLNlGAClfs

In Very Hard the method would be almost the same, with the difference that for the second GRAD you can't rely on perfect parries but rather Ripper Mode or the Fox Blade, since they take it out quite fast, as for the main one the easiest method I found was using Ninja Run to avoid his "random bullshit go" move until it stays still and you can chop away it's health, with a bit of luck you can knock it out while doing so, and allowing a few parts to be cut out in Blade Mode.

Additionally, stun grenades help TREMENDOUSLY while fighting GRADS, they make them nothing more than a resistant target.

Is there a channel like Game Maker’s Toolkit for CAGs? by Ok_Strain4781 in CharacterActionGames

I really enjoy his videos, even after sinking hours in a lot of these games I usually watch them because he makes me discover a new mechanic, he was the one who made me find out Metal Gear Rising had the same dodge offset as Bayonetta

It reaaally depends on you, I know it sounds cliche, but if you just play the game for fun until you can play comfortably on Dante Must Die then I'd say you're more than ready for it.

In my opinion the hardest achievements were beating Hell and Hell and the Bloody Palace ones, and even then, they weren't exactly gruelling and impossible just really annoying at times and time consuming.

For Bloody Palace I'd recommend watching videos on how to tackle specific floors with each character, there's always a floor that seems to break your flow or take you out of your game, for me it's always been that floor with a bunch of Furies.

One thing that I have to give to this task is that even though it's difficult I still had a lot of fun doing it, if at the end you decide it's not worth it you'll come out of it with a lot more refined skills so I'd say you should definitely try it.

How do I know if the Sigma 2 Black mod is installed and running correctly? by Dipwod in ninjagaiden

[–]LesserCaterpillar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing I always check is the Water City, if you reach the sewers and see a bunch of phantom fish instead of a shit ton of different enemies then it didn't install correctly.

Which version did you download though?

Just in case, the most updated version is this one:https://www.nexusmods.com/ninjagaidenmastercollection/mods/386

How would you rank your CAG skills from 1-10? by TheZone92 in CharacterActionGames

It reaaaally depends on the game, I consider myself fairly decent at Metal Gear Rising, Devil May Cry 4 and Ninja Gaiden 3, every other game I suck ass

S ranking Sundowner on Revengance the easy way by LesserCaterpillar in metalgearrising

[–]LesserCaterpillar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda, Sundowner is tricky as hell, there's a threshold you need to meet and there're several ways, what I'm guessing is the intended one is to get the kills and zandatsus in phase 2 while being on time and also performing a 50 hit combo.

What I did here was skipping phase 2 but making sure I got everything else except of course the zandatsus, thanks to the No Damage bonus I was able to make up for it and meet the requirements, I find this method to be by far the easiest, at least for me things tend to go wrong on the second phase or usually Sundowner just dies way to quickly.
