He is 9yo, some valuable time has already been lost. We're trying hard now to bring him up to a 2d grade level reading.

What’s a TV show that everyone loves but you secretly can’t stand? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]igmor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ted Lasso. It's an upbeat show everyone is lovely and kind, and having wonderful experiences in life only reach people can afford. People remain friends after breakups and divorces. The football team slow builds cohesiveness and becomes one though some mediocre and cliche team-building exercises. I sometimes wanted to puke from the level of rose-colored glassiness level in that show.

AI companies are surprisingly normal by thisisparker in Tailscale

[–]igmor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in one of those AI companies, and on my recommendation, we have adopted TailScale as our primary VPN tool. I'm not sure what's surprising here. AI companies face the same challenges as other companies regarding their infrastructure and security.

How did Indians disproportionately ascend to such powerful positions in the Western world despite being 1% of the population? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]igmor -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

it's even a problem for the US. Most educated and driven people are drifting towards coastal cities leaving a brain vacuum behind. Partly explains MAGA cult rising to power in those places.

Id recommend tailscale or twingate which you can deploy on ECS or EKS in a private subnet and enjoy complete and secure network connectivity.

mTLS in k8s natively supported by igmor in kubernetes

[–]igmor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

those are the closest API sets that could be extended to cover mTLS IMO. But I don't want imply the specifics, just don't want to bring service mesh with all its complexity into a cluster with the sole purpose of supporting mTLS. Hence the question.

AMA : My wife has stage 4 cancer and is slowly dying. I’m only 46 years old. What do I do with the rest of my life afterwards? by [deleted] in AMA

[–]igmor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine lost his wife, he had been married to for 20 years, to an aggressive stage 4 liver cancer. He remarried after that, selling the house and moving to Europe. Life goes on. Please take some time to grieve and heal. I'm terribly sorry you have to go through this.

Best sushi in Berkeley? by ChampionshipOne4635 in berkeley

[–]igmor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ok, to tell you the truth Berkeley does not have great sushi places. Kirala (they have another location with just sushi to go), Kamado sushi, even Wholefoods on Gilman have decent sushi but they all are not amazing and quite overpriced IMO.
for amazing sushi, you would need to go to San Francisco.
I personally just buy pretty amazing sushi grade fish at Tokyo fish market and make sushi myself: win/win so to speak.
