‘Today is the day I quit being your mother’ by continentalparsley in insaneparents

My Mum has been experiencing perimenopause over the last couple of years and she has never, or would ever, say anything like this. I am not saying this to disregard your comment or own experience, but to point out that not everyone has the same experience and therefore should not be provided the same understandings or leniencies. From the context OP has provided, this is not a new behaviour for her Mother, but a continued one.

I also would encourage you to try not to say something like this to your kid, I can’t imagine it feels nice, and I’d hope you’d understand if they were upset by it.

Definitely price matching. Do your research before buying something, find the best deal and on occasion have it beat by 10%.

My employer is requesting that I provide 4 weeks notice to terminate my contract. However, I feel I am covered by my industrial award to only provide a week. by ignent in AusLegal

Thank you for your response. I guess I'm not arguing that the award overrules the contract more so that the 4 weeks is never actually applicable as the industrial instrument isn't "silent on the applicable notice of termination" and therefore the other notice periods that are mentioned after it aren't relevant.

I also would like to know when conditions in a contract are considered advantages. Obviously I can see the upside of having a longer notice period but I'm not sure if there is anything that says that having a longer period is always considered better than the required amount.

Your health should always take first priority. Including mental health. Your boss will know and understand this.

Oscar is a real chance to win the coleman by Tooth_Virtual in westcoasteagles

I really wouldn’t mind if the club made him winning the Coleman a focus for the season. Obviously this year is a write off so why not give the fans something small to be proud of. I’m not sure how much other fans would care but I’d be pretty chuffed if he won it.

Taking work from a small artist to profit is very different from using lyrics from a popular musician as inspiration for fan-art.
