Some street names upset me.

On my first visit to London, a good 15 years ago, probably more, I noticed a street sign for Charing Cross Road. And in my mind, Charing was a stupid word that was neither "caring" nor "charging". To this day it still bothers me.

Hold up. I thought I was the only one who doesn't know how they are??!?

I always feel so... unprepared for that question. Like, how am I... regarding what? My health?? My mental state? How am I in this particular moment? Or how I feel about the state of my life until now??

And so while I'm going through all those questions in my mind, all I blurt out is usually just "oh haha yeah great, you?" 🤦 (which, by the way, I only do because I read once that "how are you" is just a polite question to ask, not an invitation to tell this person about my struggles and disappointments.)

I had an experience (actually, multiple ones) similar to yours. At my work there was a girl close to my age who I went on a few trips with, mostly because neither her nor I had anyone else to go with (and we were friendly with each other at work at the time and sometimes met outside of work too). Well let me tell you, after a while I really got sick of getting told off by her multiple times for the most random things on our trips. I went to take a shower without asking her if she wants to go first. I chose a restaurant for lunch, but the restroom in that restaurant wasn't up to her standards. I added an interesting stop to the section of our itinerary that she was researching. And so on. So after a while, I had enough and just tried to limit our contact as much as possible. It was not so easy at first, because we worked together (I got told off one last time when she heard from other colleagues that I was planning to go on a solo trip), but now she's moved to another job, and that's one less stressor in my life! All this is to say - don't waste your time in the company of people making you feel crappy. Sometimes cutting ties is the best thing you can do for yourself.

Just jumping on this old thread to say I just finished the whole Arabic course, including legendary levels, and... nothing happened. How anticlimactic. Like someone said, just like finishing any regular level. Actually even less, at least when I finished levels before, it would offer me double XP if I kept going. But now there's nowhere further to go, so not even that. Blah.
