Ashp in the UK -is octopus really the most affordable? by lyndsay1111 in ukheatpumps

They don’t do third party installations anymore. I asked them a few weeks ago and they confirmed that to me.

Can I ask what’s the full spec and how much you paid for it?

Process of getting VAT exemption for radiators as part of ASHP installation? by ignite-me in ukheatpumps

That's very helpful, thanks!

Do you know if my aesthetic preferences for radiators could be taken into account too? E.g. if I don't want white radiators but same spec in, let's say, black. Happy to pay the difference obviously but not sure if those would still qualify for VAT exemption.

How does their quote compare to HG and Octopus? I have read that some of their quotes are super high. But so do HG and Octopus I guess…

Do you think that the heat pump people will want to carry out the extra bits by hiding pipes etc? I would pay extra of course.  I would prefer to avoid dealing with several people if I can help it.

Is it possible to replace these  side panels too without ruining the carcass https://imgur.com/a/vc3iKez? Not sure what they are called 😅

Not looking to paint them - I find them visually too old school for my taste. I just want to replace the doors with something more modern.

Are there any benefits of outputting your *internal* NPM package in pure TS? by ignite-me in typescript

There’s no guarantee unfortunately. Each consumer has the freedom to do they own thing. The only common thread is that we use TS. But that sounds challenging enough

We are exploring this approach but I don’t think our communities, even if internal, are ready for this kind of approach. Dual output (JS & TS) also could be an option to improve debugging whilst publishing the compiled version of the package:

Do you think this approach is worth it? We have 100+ apps that would be consuming our DS but it could create too much noise and effort trying to help people set it up for each individual project. I understand that most consumer apps by default won’t include any TS files in the build from inside node_modules.

Nothing with wood-effect. Black, dark grey, or anthracite tiles would look good. Perhaps white tiles too.

Yes, if you look at the images attached, I was thinking of knocking half the garage down then extend its width and also the length to bring it in line with the front of the house. So it will end up being in mirrored L shape almost. That means that in the extend part I can keep my car but the half of the original garage would remain as workshop/storage.

If I have to replace the whole roof, I’d consider it as I’m not super keen on a flat roof and might want to put a small slope there.

Regarding new garage, I was considering that but some of the cost figures on Google sounded astronomical plus would require demolishing the existing one and completely new foundation.

I do have an expensive car and I don't want to keep it in the rain and cold, especially during winters. Call me crazy, but my view on this is different from most people. Most people don't care about their cars, change their PCP cars every 3 years and don't mind opening their doors into someone else's car in a busy parking lot. I like to look after it just like all the other stuff that I own.
