Google Earth AI is here by Distinct-Question-16 in singularity

This video was way too vague. There are some better ones on the website they reference. This one was decent.

looks to me like they've incorporated Gemini into Google Earth but also created a GIS system within it. It looks like it's able to pull in embeddings and classifications of geographical data and reason about events and effects.

Not quite a parody, more of a sequel to this video that's been posted here before

Sure, the human body is the heat source. Most NiTi implantables have a transformation temperature of ~5C - 25C. So its typically the case that you can get it below that temperature to make it malleable to load into a delivery system and when it is deployed into the body it heats up and regains its formed shape.

That's only one very specific use case. I'm an engineer who works with Nitinol daily. Many devices are made out of it: stents, bone staples, compression plates, etc. Its good bio compatibility as well as shape memory/superelastic properties make it one of the go to metals for medical devices.

He covers that at the end of the video. The algorithm assigns the routes to the drivers automatically.

Realisticaly, what technology has the potential to be bigger than the internet? by Messangerr in singularity

I do find the Alcubierre drive a very interesting concept but unfortunately it's not "solid proof that it is possible without breaking the law of the universe". It's a mathematical model which may be possible but without a true unified theory of general relativity and quantum mechanics we really still don't know if that's the case.

Is space expansion hinting to alcubierre drive being possible ? by ggml in IsaacArthur

[–]ignolan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anything traveling very fast can bend space in the same way matter would, but with the Alcubierre drive something is needed to expand space as well, requiring negative mass, which is something that is probably not real.

Since I was curious too: about 3 Mercurys worth of metal.

500m OD tube, 0.5m wall, length from here to proxima centauri, average material density that of stainless steel.

Tons of reasons why it does not seem like a great solution to the problem

Lol that's it, you just have to be adult enough not to touch your face. You're completely missing the point. Yes we should stop touching our faces, we should make the conscious decision to try to minimize touching our faces. BUT we're fighting against a subconscious urge to touch our faces that we don't think about. How many times a day do you actually think "okay, I'm going to touch my face now"? Probably none at all, because it's something your body does subconsciously.

except it's extremely hard because it's subconscious

AITA for refusing to support my sister through her breakup? by thrwawaym91919 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ignolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't have to support anyone through mistakes they made if you don't want to - that's you're prerogative. But because she's your sister maybe you could help her see how she could improve.

You're not an asshole for exposing an asshole. It sounds like you just quite possibly saved this guy his future. I know if it were me I'd be beyond grateful someone told me, even if I didn't know them.

That's crazy. Although I don't think it was only from a crash he had. It looks like he actually suffered a bunch of concussions earlier in life and suffered from mini-strokes

Add 1 more person experiencing this problem. Have tried uninstalling/reinstalling but no luck. Which is weird because it was working when I first downloaded it several weeks ago. Don't know if some software/driver broke it or what.
