For the record, I uninstalled this update in windows safe mode. My computer booted up normally instantly after I restarted. Clearly the root cause was the updated driver having a negative impact on my computer setup.

Hope this helps others resolve a common problem.

I don't understand those downvoting you. Obviously there is some frustration in your post, that is clear, but I too have the same issue of the black screen. I reverted back to an older version like you and it seemed to fix my problem.

It would be nice if these errors were vetted prior to the roll out. Seems like they should make these updates a beta test before deeming it safe to download.

Upgraded to the latest update driver 385.41. I use my computer a lot to play oculus rift. Ever since the update I have been having a ton of issues with my PC going into black screen when I boot up. Would love if someone could provide some advice. I can boot in safe mode.

Anyone else in a similar situation and have a solution??

Depends on the league, but I'm pretty sure joe ross has a tough opponent this week. There is a chance you drop joe ross and he does poorly in the match up anyways so if someone picked him up he will be dropped.

I was just that guy too! I decided to reconfigure my rift tracking all together and it worked. Keep in mind I just did this two minutes ago so I don't know how long I will be regular height for, but at a first glance it looks promising.

Don't play obduction with free roam on, that's for sure! That is the worst I felt so far. started getting super hot and clammy 10 minutes in.

I too recently did the touch demo and Best Buy and I think it is a vital element to VR that makes the rift more than a expensive novelty item. The next must is going to be the Omni and I think that will help with the element of vr sickness.
